These feckers have been in discussion about a possible groundhsare.

Stick yer groundshare up yer @rses and fuck off out of our club.

Its a sad state of affairs but I wouldn't be against a ground share at the moment if it was on the table, privvy to certain conditions like  - 80,000 seater, best stadium in england.

At present we are stuck in a rut, and reguardless of all this talk of Hicks selling, I cannot see him going anywhere soon and think we are stuck with the 2 americans for the next season and possibly beyond.

We all the uncertainty and mistrust around Anfield, work will not start on Stanley Park for a long long time.

2007 - groundshare..... feck off

2008 -  groundshare..... show me the plans?

I used to like you Doddy  :D

Ive sent an email to Hicks saying whats this rubbish?

Why is Warren evertonain Bradley wheeling the groundshare out again?

I said if you want to build everton a new stadium go ahead because they will be the only fans sitting in it, and if you do decide to go ahead with a groundshare, forget the 60 seater you better make it 30 because that will be the number of seats being sold.

This is what I fear the most. The other teams are only going to get stronger in the summer.

Fortunately mates, football are not maths despite what you write sounds logical.

Put yourself in the skin of a Spanish fan in the summer that Real Madrid managed to put together in the same squad names like Figo, Zidane, Raul (younger), Owen (before injury nightmare). On paper, it felt as if they were going to spank away every team of the league.

Yet, sometimes you bring 3 world class guys, and they don't click. You bring one piece instead in another team, and the machinery starts working.

Yes, I know I sound terribly happy clappy, but it's true, and you can't underrate Liverpool, never.

Looks like its over guys.

In the case of Liverpool FC, Dubai was much closer to taking control. In February last year, Mr Hashimi and Zabeel were preparing to take a 20 per cent stake in the club that won the Champions League in 2005 and is one of the most decorated, watched and supported in the world. In partnership with Dubai International Capital (DIC), an investment vehicle of the Government, and its chief executive Samer al Ansari, an avid Liverpool fan, Dubai had been told by private equity advisers that the club was a “bargain buy” at about £200m. In Mr Hashimi’s words, it was a “steal”.

But the Liverpool board decided to sell to the US billionaires Tom Hicks and George Gillett, with an offer worth £5,000 per share, valuing the club and its £44.8m debts at £218.9m.

Dubai was not amused, and understandably so.

It had arguably offered a better price, promised a brand new 60,000-seat stadium and an open chequebook to buy new star players. Today, the club may well be regretting its hasty decision, since what followed was far from pretty. The Hicks-Gillett relationship rapidly disintegrated and in March this year, Mr Hicks panicked. Desperate to offload his half, he toured the globe pleading with investors. But what happened next was the last straw for Dubai. Mr Hicks flew to the emirate with the intention of offering his stake to those who had been snubbed last year. Mr Hashimi – along with the other previously interested Arab parties, including Mr Ansari – was in no mood to negotiate, and Mr Hicks left with his tail between his legs.

“It was a great deal at the time, but it either falls into play or it doesn’t,” says Mr Hashimi, a football fan himself, now completely at ease with the situation.

“Our flirtation with football is over for now. I believe certain things happen for a reason and always happen for the best. Could it have distracted me from other things? Possibly. Could it have focused our attention elsewhere and not as much here? Maybe. I just feel sorry for the fans,” he says.

I had an inkling it would end this way anyway. It sickens me to say so but I guess we will just have to grit our teeth and hope for the best now. I hope David Moores and Rick Parry are haunted by this for the rest of their lives. They may have just killed of any real hope of us actually ever winning the league again by putting these 2 muppets in charge.

This bit for me puts to bed why the yanks offer was accepted. But also raises, for me at least why a long term Liverpool supporter, with buckets of money didnt match it or indeed better it. He classed the initial bid as a "steal" but refused to budge. If I had the money they have this club would be mine, no questions asked.

Moores had to accept the highest offer for the shareholders DIC offered 4500 a share, H & G 5000.

But then it becomes like an auction doesnt it? final bid the winner. If DIC have the money, and they really wanted the club why didnt they win? If there attitude was "nope, we are not paying that" then it wouldnt look good in the transfer market for us if they did take over would it? But thats all hearsay, they had a chance to buy the club but refused to budge.

They are waiting to see how the world economy pans out but with oil at $135 a barrel they have more money than ever to spend, not less.

I bet you he comes out tommorrow with another mad statement if he reads this which im sure his :censored: spys will let him know about.

Wasnt this the lad though who was gonna come in with Dic for 20% earlier on.

My other halfs going mad here and tellin me to turn the laptop off

Seriously, if DIC are the answer, why dont they own the club? why are so many people pinning there hopes on DIC taking over? Why do the yanks own our club instead of DIC. Considering the figures, DIC do have considerably more finance than the yanks do. I have always had my doubts about DIC being the answer to our problems and yet the statement ciggy posted in some way answered them but raised my own questions. Why are they not in charge of the club. The club was up for sale, the asking price was a "steal" If that is the case why do the yanks own LFC? If DIC are the answer to our problems, why couldnt they match the yanks finance for finance. They have brought us into debt they have taken out loans, and yet DIC, with unlimited funds couldnt (or wouldnt match them). Do DIC have the clubs interests at heart or there own? The fact we have the yanks in charge answers a part of that question.

You ask why?

Because they have a brain maybe?
First of all they went through our books and took their time
to negotiate a deal with LFC. Everything was done in a proper
and friendly manner.
Then when everything was set to be signed, in come 2 yanks storming with a 11th hour bid and took 2 hours checking LFC's books and DIC believed, that there was a gentlemans agreement. And with total disregard of those 2 yanks past or and proper research, LFC's board only saw the dollar signs and signed on the dotted line.

DIC was humliated and insulted and you expect them to just stump up 4 times what they could had paid then just to be the clubs saviours?
The same club which previous board screwed them royally over??
Dream on. DIC don't give away money, noone does.
Both out of a business perspective, but also they have a reputation to uphold not to throw hundreds of millions away
at a whim.
There will be no savior until the filth realises, like with Corinthians, that LFC is no real cashcow and leaves. with very little profit if any.

Not much will happen now until it's time for the next refinance deal next summer.

Blaming DIC for the problem the yanks has put LFC into is low.
Like it is their fault the previous board acted like money grabbing swine with no honour and that the yanks in turn is acting like money grabbing swine with no honour
