What the :censored: is going on. The :censored: just keeps snowballing with every week that goes by. Chelsea in for Torres? No :censored: way!!!

Where is all this coming from, surely its just summer transfer talk. Where is the real substabce? Im sure its just paper talk as the whole Lampard Barca thing has died down.

Also I seriosuly dont think Abramovich can afford to be spending that much on 1 player.

no way... torres was the only bright spot last season...and we took quite a gamble to get him for 23 million ++... you would sell torres for 50 million?? unbelieveable...

Then spend another 25 million on a new striker and the other 25 million on a world class winger.

Rafa will not let us sell Torres, but more importantly, Torres will never sign for Chelsea.

I struggle to see the logic, mate.  I'm not saying Torres is irreplaceable but neither are players simply cogs in a machine.  You can't just splash the cash and replace like for like.  Torres quite evidently suits our style of play and vice versa.  He's been blooded in the league and was arguably the top player in England last season (at least in the top two).  Would you really be prepared to cast that sure thing aside and gamble that his replacements were going to bed in as seamlessly and contribute as much to the team as he has this season?  I wouldn't want to even contemplate it. :no  Thankfully, I'm fairly certain that Effes is right on all counts. :D

Firstly, I don't think Torres will leave; therefore, this topic is purely hypothetical.  However, if a huge bid came in then it would be daft to not consider it.  Especially when you consider that we’re in debt.  I’m not saying we should be a selling club tho, so hold on the abuse just for a second!   :D

I know that we could buy another striker for 25 million, only for them to fail, but Torres alone isn’t going to win us the title and we need a Ronaldo type player for our flanks….someone who can play on both sides and can win us those stalemates against the likes of Wigan.  IF I thought I could replace Torres AND bring in a world class winger for 50-60 million then yeah, I’d sell.

Bottom line is we don’t have the cash to compete with Chelsea or the Scum and Rafa probably does have to sell before he can buy.
