Hicks will have to sell as he can't buy from Gilett, as the credit crunch tightens its grip on America they will not have a choice other than to sell and the sooner the better.

In principle you are right, few banks are hungry for venture capital loans rigfght now - see the disasterous story below which is a pretty good reflection of the market:

"Goldman Sachs' huge discount offloads debt"

Goldman Sachs has been forced to give investors the largest discount yet offered by an investment bank in the credit crunch in an attempt to offload loans linked to a highly leveraged buyout, The Times has learnt.

Goldman Sachs and Dresdner Kleinwort agreed to back Bain Capital’s €1.4 billion (£1.1 billion) buyout of Bavaria Yachtbau GmbH, one of Europe’s largest yachtmakers, last June. A month after the deal closed, the credit crunch took hold and the banks were forced to sit on €900 million worth of Bain’s debt as investor appetite for leveraged deals dried up.

Now Goldman Sachs has agreed to sell €100 million of the senior debt at 65 cents in the euro. The bank, which declined to comment, has been marketing the deal and took investors, mainly hedge funds, to meet the group’s management in a bid to persuade them to buy the debt.

65 cents on the euro !!!!  talk about discounting!!!

So unless Hicks has got a fairy godmother, he´s gonna struggle to raise serious wedge to buy out GG, never mind build a stadium and give Rafa a warchest.

Most of this hoo har har about the club and its owners is based on tabloid stories and we as a club know what lies tabloids can spew out.

They just want a story that will seel and we are that story.

I take everything I read with a pinch of salt as what I read in a tabloid back page is usually :censored:.

If Rafa walks then I will :censored: cry because depsite what people think it would be a :censored: disaster for this club financially to not compete in the champs league until we get a stadium. Our financial security does not lie in the prem but in the champs league. You must realise this. The prem will come due to the calibre of player we are able to attarct with european success.

Has been all season, and what certain people cant figure out is how Chris Bascombes words have been as damaging as any rubbish the rest have printed. Why do people take his views as gospel? why do people take his views as "it must be happening, otherwise he wouldnt say it?".

The way I look at it is simple, he left his locals to join the sister paper of who we hate, and since then all he has sprouted is utter sh.ite. I can see the rubbish being printed everytime someone at lfc opens there mouth, its a constant heyday for the press, but then again it doesnt need a member of the club to say anything, the bs is constant, only when liverpool have nothing to win will they be left alone.

this is true in most parts but in next few seasons we might having to be wining the prem ot 2nd to get into the CL.

On plus note tho next season am i not right that there will be 7 subs in prem games ? so surely this is all that rafa needs to win the prem he will have more options and we all know how he loves options.

I think Hicks knows that he can't yet buy 100% of the club and fears that DIC are going to get 50% of the club. As such he is trying to use fan pressure (using our love of Rafa and hatred of Parry) to get Parry out and replace him with Ayres so that DIC wouldn't have majority control of the boardroom.

Thats why I feel that we have to ensure we aren't manipulated into doing Hicks dirty work and helping him get an equal footing (arguably a position of strength as Ayres would be Chief Exec) in the boardroom.

On another note who gives a f#ck if Gillett backs Rafa as he is on the way out anyway whilst Hicks backs Rafa so much he was about to sack him if he lost the Marseilles away game.

Anybody who falls for Hick's spin is as thick as David Moores.

I was thinking about this thing with Doug Ellis saying that Hicks was trying to buy Villa before Randy (i wont let any rival directors into my box unless they pay for it) Lerner bought them and if he did see right through Hicks and though he was a bullsh1t cowboy, why is he only saying this now and why did he not talk to Moores and warn him before the deal went ahead.

Its probably all bullsh1t, Lerner just probably offered him more money.

http://www.football365.com/story/0,17033,8698_3409645,00.html

I have just read this on the above link, though its a few days old:

"There are also claims in this morning's newspapers that Tom Hicks Jr sent a series of text messages to Liverpool supporters groups, in which, to quote The Guardian, 'Parry's future presence at the club was called into doubt.' It is from those sources that Sky Sports News are thought to have first learnt of Hicks' demand. "

I would like to ask every member of this Forum Group of Liverpool fans and friends - have you received the mentioned text message from Hicks Jr.?

We have to question the ethics of the owners in generating smear campaigns pitting shareholder against shareholder, director against director, fans against directors and shareholders and fans to influence and lead other fans to behave in a certain manner or actively in support of Tom Hicks who, in the last 6 months has shown himself to be totally unworthy of the ownership fo this club.

Which fans are doing Hick´s dirty work, which have sold their soul to the devil, who are taking Hicks´ dirty money?

Is it possible that genuine fans are working with Hicks to undermine the structure of our club???

True, but I thought most of these Chairmen are quite pally with each other and you would pass that sort of info on.

At the end of the day investment wouldn't have been needed if the club had built the stadium a few years ago when the original price was £70m, that's £18m less than Moores pocketed when he sold the club.

Sadly I'm starting to get the impression that Hicks will not budge under any circumstances and I think the impasse will be resolved in Hicks' favour with Gillett and Parry gone, Hicks having a number of minority investors and DIC gone the way of Steve Morgan. :(

The more this plays out the more I see Hicks as being the number one man next season. :(
