Good news if he can do it.

this is getting uglier and uglier... what a joke... two owners fighting each other... they've really made a laughing stock of LFC... btw what's with Benitez supporting Hicks? or did i get it wrong?

Rafa's playing the game , to save his job imo.

rafa doesnt have to worry about his job, he could walk into Inter Milan, AC Milan, Barcelona, Real Madrid, Chelsea etc.. tomorrow. In fact there have never been so many good clubs on the lookout as at the moment!

Some Barcelona fans (bbc website forum) are saying that their club are set to make Rafa an offer of a lifetime??

They can have him, I hope he goes there and overrotates them as much as he does our players, he won't last more than 1 season but it will be a season where he manages to p1ss off the entire team!
I am so fecking annoyed at that article where he is again defending his rotation at the start of this season, he obviously never learns and if he stays it will be the same bloody rotation cr@p again, so another season without the league. We need to get a good manager who plays a settled team, at the moment we are playing well and you saw on Saturday how hungry the players were to impress when they were given a  chance, how different than when they know they will get rotated in anyway, whether they play well or not!!

So it sounds like both Gillette and Hicks are looking to sell making the solution easy...sell to DIC.

Simple as that :)

Thats not the case at all. Apparantly he spent all last week after the game trying to riase money to buy out GG.

With this new TV deal, Hicks is not going to back out until he has maximised his smash and grab.

Nan, I can understand your trepidation over his supposed "good news" but don't forget how many times he's bullshited us upto now. I'd say it's a fair bet that sweet FA will happen.

Liverpool owner Tom Hicks to miss Arsenal tie    08/04/2008

Liverpool co-owner Tom Hicks will not attend his club's Champions League quarter-final second leg against Arsenal at Anfield tonight.

Hicks, who is trying to raise funds in his ongoing battle for control of Liverpool with fellow owner George Gillett, spent much of last week in London. But he will insead be in Texas as Rafa Benitez's team attempt to reach the last four of Europe's premier competition.

Absent: Tom Hicks will be in Dallas when Liverpool play Arsenal at Anfield in the Champions League. The American was at the Emirates Stadium last Wednesday to see the first leg, and was again in the directors' box there on Saturday to witness the Premier League clash between the clubs.

However, Hicks has since flown home to Dallas to watch the opening match of his Texas Rangers baseball team's new season. He will be represented at Anfield tonight by his son, Tom Jnr.

The last time Hicks Jnr attended a match at Anfield was for the Middlesbrough game on Feb 23, when his visit to the nearby Sandon pub to meet fans turned ugly. It was reported that he was spat at, had beer thrown at him and needed to be escorted out of the pub by minders.

On his decision to attend the baseball, Hicks Snr said: "Opening day in baseball is like a national holiday.

"I would never miss our home opener, but I will have the Liverpool game on my TV. I saw two great games over there last week."

The saga of the club's future ownership may not be decided until the end of the season. Hicks held discussions with banks and financiers in London last week, and has now returned to the US seeking financial backing from banks there.

Dubai Investment Capital, the company who are trying to buy the club, have claimed to have already agreed a deal with Gillett, who has made it clear he will not sell his half of the club to Hicks.

Hicks' veto right over Gillett selling to a third party could soon be tested in court. If Hicks fails to raise capital for his US sporting empire - the Texas Rangers and Dallas Stars - as well as the money he needs to fund Liverpool's new stadium, the takeover battle could come to a head by the end of May.

DIC still want to buy, and are prepared to wait for developments. Liverpool chief executive Rick Parry has pleaded for movement on both sides to break the deadlock.

Make sure you give Tommy Junior a warm welcome lads............... :;):
