TAKEOVER COMPLETE - H & G Finally Jibbed!

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

I can see DIC bid around 250 million which would be around 50 more than before, but right now I don't believe for a second those disgraceful people will accept it even if it meant a small profit.

I mean, as it looks DIC is looking at the book like they did last time, why is nothing has changed for the better would alll of a sudden DIC bid 100% more?

The fans stuff aside, it just doesn't make any logical sense at all even if you look at it from only 1% business side of things.
That would make them look foolish and makes you question why they didn't offer 250 or 300 million right away last time since they would have to stump up even more now?

The more DIC have to cough up to be rid of Hicks, the greater the impact on our future plans.

We sold the club to AVOID a cash squeeze and now we´re 20 times worse off !!

Well it could. We could of agreed to share a ground with Everton. At least the yanks put a stop to that. Some credit is due :D

4) If Torres has scored 60 league goals for Liverpool by the start of the 2011/12 season, I'll say he's better than Owen.

This guy needs a reality check...I wasn't up for the idea of bombarding all his business contacts with e-mails etc but now...he needs to know how much he is loathed.

Anybody pull out those email adresses again? ..let's do something rather than watch him drag us through the sewer...

..whatever it takes to get this toad to crawl back under the rock he was spawned under..

You all need a reality check.

1. Who says H & G will sell, they don't have to! Just because a small arm of fans want them out.

2. What are DIC's motives for buying the club, when it will surely cost them a lot more than it would have 1-2 years ago?

3. All of this speculation is just embarrassing for LFC.

4. Who says that DIC have an endless pot of cash to plough into LFC? Ie:
        A. Paying 100m or so for some shares.
        B. Forking 400m or so for a new ground.
        C. Giving Rafa 100m or so to waste on some more Kuyt's and other Tosh.

5. Who says DIC will not rack the debt up even further? I very much doubt they would fork 400m out of there own pockets to fund a new stadium on Stanley park. I think it is normal practice in the prem to get a loan secured on the bricks.

YOU NAME ME ANY PREM CLUB THAT IS NOT IN DEBT!? They all are.

Im sure Arsenal, Boro, Bolton, and all others with a new ground have borrowed the cash to build it.

6. And do we really want the club in the hands of a country (Dubai) with poor human rights records??
You can be jailed in Dubai for breaking wind in public!

7. And finally, if a further taker happens with DIC, and then Rafa splashes more cash, results dont go our way, will it be:
GET DIC OUT! GET DIC OUT! GET DIC OUT! ?

All I say is........[u]BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU ASK FOR[u/].

What kind of stupid fuking arrangement is that. One partner not allowing the other to sell their share.?  :veryangry
I could see the logic of allowing each partner first refusal on the others share but allowing the other partner to block your sale is just unbelievably stupid!!!!

Maybe we're getting carried away here, Hicks has lied about not planning to sack Rafa - then admits talking to Klinsmann about taking the job.
They said they wouldn't load the club with debts - we all know what happened next.
Hicks said he hadn't talked to DIC about buying into/the club - he had.
So why should we believe the lying S.O.B now??

Little by little we are getting the picture that certainly Gillett wants to sell and with the credit crunch and increasing costs the pair will at some stage have to either dig into their pockets or sell up. The banks will come calling for their money and the nearer that day comes the less profit if any either of them is gonna make from the club.

Unquestionably DIC's motives too are to make money out of the club but from what we learned 12-18 months ago is that they know they have to speculate to accumulate i.e.spend on players and stadium to guarantee that expenditure reverses itself into a healthy income.
At the moment we can only guess that they feel the extra cost of acquiring the club will be worthwile in the long term.

They may not have an endless pot of money but they've got a hell of a bigger pot than G&H have clearly got. They are an investment company (a successful one at that) so they will probably have a business model well planned out unlike G&H who have been overwhelmed and surprised by the costs of owning and running a Premier league club.
I think we all know they will be taking out loans to fund things like the new stadium but the information that has been revealed from various sources is that these will be a lot smaller than what G&H will have to acquire and less of the debt will be secured against the club if any.

We can only hope that DIC will be better for us but with the way things are going currently I think we stand a better chance of Liverpool Football Club being around in ten years time with them at the helm than we do with G&H.

and just to think there were plenty fans who were happy when the club screwed DIC and went with the yanks.

I wish the media would stop reporting with this headlines of 'Liverpool to be sold' and the 'Yanks want out'.  nothing seems to change yet ts the same story again and again.

No-one could have foreseen with reasonable certainty, the situation the yanks would ultimately place us in. Of course people were happy, their rhetoric was very positive at the time. The club didn't screw DIC, they imposed a deadline and Moores wouldn't agree to it. That's just business.

1. Well, when it comes to Hicks I agree and that is all that matters. I see no reason for DIC to be joined owner and not be majority owner of the club. Hicks would only wait and let DIC inverst money into the club and let the value of his half skyrocket. No way DIC is interested in that.

2.  I totally agree. You can twist it anyway you want but only a mindless fool or a person with no business interest at all would consider doing something like that. Last time they went over the books and came up with an offer they felt reasonable. I see nothing that would raise their bid as if the club has gone up in value.

3. Embarrasing? Yes. Necessary? YES
Do you not realise how bad it is?
Even when Moores was the owner we were a sinking ship financially with a big debt.
Now, it is 10 times worse. Interest bills of 25-30 millions just to cover the purchase of those clowns and LFC is picking up the bill!

4. Endless? NO  Anything at all? YES
That is a big diference you see. The stupid lying swine that owns us now, are not and are obviously never going to invest a penny into the club. DIC will with a 100% certainty invest more, since a penny would do that.
Not to mention the financial stabilty DIC represent.
And please don't enter into Rafa bashing. kuyt is an exception to the rule. Blaming Rafa for Crouch, Pennant etc etc is so wrong I don't want to start. It is all about the money which he hasn't been given. Otherwise Villa and Alves would be here instead.

5. Now there is a huge, no a MAJOR difference between putting the club into debt to purchase the club and put the club into debt to build a stadium. A stadium will most definitly pay for itself with increase revenue, naming rights etc and that is nothing uncommon about that.
But to loan every penny to buy a club and put everything back onto the club, the club which will have no benefit of that loan at all and not responsible for it, besides being a millstone for years is a whole different ballgame.

I would asume DIC would loan to build the stadium but not to loan every penny to buy the club.

Arsenal are into debt because of their stadium. There is no comparision. We have a huge mega loan and still no stadium or finances secured to build a stadium even!

6. Name me one rich person/state that is a saint?

7. This was the most idiotic thing I have read in a while though. How the club is run at the top and how the club is run by the manager should be kept seperate unless there is something that connects them.
If DIC does what is expected of them and the team fails the responsiblity starts with the manager.

But that hasn't been the case with those 2 clowns owning the club. There has not been funds for Rafa. They have been acting like swine. The have lied.. They have took on something way too big for them.

When DIC make those kinds of screw ups, I'll be calling for their heads.
If you are so stupid to believe everyone would be happy with G&H if we were 5 pts of the leaders in the league you sure are a one grade **** or a Hicks pr troll.

So in conclusion, I have absolutely no fear for what I ask, since I know It will not be worse. No chance.
At worst just as bad and the chance for that is extremely remote.

I wouldn't get overly concerned by Hicks' talk.

He's playing hard to get knowing that sometime or another he will make a fat profit. If its not DIC there are plenty of other potential suitors about. Hicks obviously has a figure in his head of what he wants and DIC as yet has not matched it. The longer this goes on the more I believe Hicks has no interest in being at Liverpool long term but at the same time he is prepared to bide his time so as to make a killing from a sale.

As for Hicks preventing Gillett from selling ultimately Hicks cannot stop Gillett from selling if Gillett really wants to although he could make it very difficult for Gillett i.e he could force Gillett to take him to the High Court.

All of this is posturing and grandstanding, what's being said in public is spin and PR.

It appears more and more that Gillett took over the club with good intentions and if these storys are true about hicks then its bad judgement on gilletts part to pick hicks as a partner. I get the feeling Moores spoke more to gillett when it came to selling rather than hicks. Gilletts intentions may have been to take this club up, but like us got sucked in by the attitude of hicks. Shame.

hicks told a load of bare-faced lies to get himself into the club, so why should we believe anything he says now? i'm convinced he'll sell as soon as an offer materialises at a level that satisfies his greed
