INTER MILAN vs LIVERPOOL: CL-11/03/08 - 2nd Leg - Build up and Match Discussion

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Ibrahimovic is the the best forward and football player in the world. He is simply pure world class. Brilliant. His touches, vision, creativity, shots, dribbling, technical ability and strength on the ball is simply all incredible and at times unseen before on football fields. He changes games at every moment by himself.

Yes, he was amazing this evening.

Nobody is constantly class. Only Zanetti played on his real level tonight. Facts are you got lucky against 10 men for 2/3 of the game very late in the game against an Inter that probably played their worst game of the season.

See how tough it is when you play in a competition where things aren't just handed to you by default?

As an Inter fan for years I can only say FORZA MATERAZZI.

Zidane said that too, Forza...right through his chest.

See you in Milan. Hopefully the ref will have some class. We don’t need him to win.

Hopefully it's not an Italian ref.

I don't think we can meet their asking price.

Your teams ‘attacks’ made me laugh.

Me too.

Especially the two attacks where we scored.

really enjoyed the last 10 minutes of the game today but seriously it was a great result, I don't know what it is about us and the champions league but we always get it right. The only thing I would criticise Rafa over was not starting Crouch in favour of Kuyt and then taking off Babel instead of Kuyt for Pennant but then Kuyt did get a goal and did actually play well for once, so not too heavy criticism.

Overall even I'm very very happy tonight, but I'm not a happy clapper yet.  :D  :D

I wonder if this is the end of Alonso, because now Rafa seems to favor Lucas more.  Lucas works harder, he has more pace and he certainly didn't look out of place against the Italian champions.  I think that Alonso may be off in the summer.

Yes, he was amazing this evening.

I don’t think so nor did I say he was. But I respect you humble opinion on the matter. Let’s see what he will bring in Milan. I personally think he will nick it for Internazionale.

What do you mean like Liverpool tonight? You’re club is a joke. Its so funny after Besiktas, Porto and now this match. Its just too obvious. Your team is pure :censored: attackingly I can’t wait for the second match.

Nick it?

If we score one your team has to score FOUR.

He'll have to do a lot of nicking.

You mean the Porto team we stuffed and the Besiktas team we inflicted the biggest defeat ever in Champions League history upon?

Even deflected goals still count.

You're a joke, you must be the most optimistic Inter supporter right now, maybe the defeat did not sink in yet.  Your CL campaign is pretty much over because most of your defenders will not be available for the second leg. :D

On another note, was it just me or did Gerrard seem to have a slight dig at Rafa in his post match interview??  When asked by the interviewer if Rafa deserved a special mention he said with a wry grin "I don't think we can single out any 1 person for praise, it was a team effort".  Possibly a dig at all the times Rafa has said the same about Gerrard.

I thought that as well mate

Just accept the fact that we are the better team tonight we are currently one of CL elite teams. Being the current italian champion doesnt make you the best team in europe. U won nothing in europe for God knows how many years. Just learn to be humble.

Yes those games Blatter is investigating atm. So how will you score? Kuyt maybe again?

face it. You got lucky against 10 men late in the game against the worst Inter side I have seen in years.

All you will do is defend and defend with 11 yes 11 not 10 men behind the ball for 90 minutes plus extra time. We will break you down in time.

I think Cordoba will make it. Plus chivu is class as a CB so is Brudisso. Stankovic, Figo and Vieira will be match fit. Ibracadabra on form. I can see thing happening. Its stupid to denial that Liverpool is favourite now. But Inter can and I feel we will bring it.

We cant attack yet we put 4 or more goals past all the teams in the group phase and oh yes talking of attacking you might want to try doing some before you come on here having a go at us WE JUST BEAT YOU 2-0. Silly person.
