Have to say, even without his goal, Kuyt deserves a pat on the back tonight. He let nobody down and ultimately made Rafa's decision to keep him on and move him to the left a good one.

Mascha was awesome once again. He's getting to the stage where it's par for the course to be a MOTM contender, but that was a cracking performance. He made sure they got no momentum going forward.

Lucas was immense before going off.
Pennant and Crouch were two very effective subs.
Finnan had an excellent second half on the right.
Torres a handful without quite being at his best.
Babel looked good again, unlucky to go off.
Gerrard good and lively in spells before popping up with one of his specials. Started and finished bright, but maybe could've made himself more integral at times.
Hyypia should have got on the scoresheet, but other than that he and Carra had little to do.
I was a little disappointed with some of Aurelio's delivery, but some good passing play on the left with Babel.

Top night's entertainment, all told. A real boost after Saturday.

Well done lads, a terrific result.

I think we'll comfortably go through at the San Siro and barring a tie against UTD I think we'll make the semis.

Am I the only one thinking that it is amazing how 5 minutes can change everyones perception of the game?

I think the team were admirable in their persistence, but the number of chances we created in the 2nd half was pretty poor. Beglin going on about how Rafas changes worked for us, I didn't get that feeling at all. Crouch didn't seem in it as he didn't get the service and Torres wasn't completely match fit. I didn't understand why Babel went off instead of Kuyt (obviously someone is psychic) and I was thinking that Stevie had had a particularly uninspiring and relatively quiet game until the moment of genius.

Don't get me wrong, I am absolutely chuffed over the moon we got the 2 goals and I really hope that this is a catalyst to a strong end of season run, but was the lack of chances really down to a fantastic Milan defence? 5 mins before the first goal I was resigning myself to a 0-0 victory and dreading the newspaper onslaught tomorrow.

i do not think your was a great performance. you deserved to win of course, you played much much better, or at least you played, we did not, but ... in the first 85 minutes we did not take risks. i think your was not a good performance.

I predicted 2-0 before the start of the game and was happy to see the lads deliver.

Second goal in as many games for Kuyt. Maybe he will now prove all his doubters (especially me) wrong.
Pennant with two assists, has to play week in week out.
Crouch caused his usual havoc.

Great result and performance, but there's always room for emprovement, especially at left back, Aurellio was sh!t tonight.

Man of the match Mascheranho.....an absoloute BARGAIN at 18 million.
1) You'll Never Walk Alone
2) pass and move is the Liverpool groove
3) FIRST WILL ALWAYS BE FIRST AND SECOND WILL ALWAYS BE NOTHING.
4) If Torres has scored 60 league goals for Liverpool by the start of the 2011/12 season, I'll say he's better than Owen.
