It'll always be Speke Airport nanny, just like our ground (even when we EVENTUALLY move) it'll always be Anfield, not New Anfield or any other name they think of giving it.

I hope to god DIC have put this story to the media to force Hicks hand, because if DIC dont buy us no one else will and we will be stuck with Hicks for the for seeable future and that is not a good sign.

If you really wany something to worry about take a look at the Arsenal share prices, they are going through the roof with some very shady share transfers going on between the Directors.
If I was an Arab looking for somewhere to invest my money where better than London, a stadium called The Emirates, with a team on the up.
Something is going on in North London and the insiders are buying shares like mad.

Don't be shocked if DIC find the calmer waters at Arsenal more appealling.

Undoubtedly true however Aresenal are already at full value as dictated by an open market.

Liverpool are a rough diamond that needs modernising then floating onto the stock market at which point full value will be achieved.

No point buying Arsenal today, the opportunity to make money as G&H have found out lies in the rough and ready LFC.

Depends how big their balls are I guess......... :rasp

The future direction of Newcastle United was the subject of heightened speculation last night after fresh rumours surfaced suggesting owner Mike Ashley is willing to sell the club less than a year after his £134 million takeover.

The Dubai International Capital (DIC) consortium are said to have been contacted by Ashley's representatives about a £300 million sale.

The link with a Middle East consortium frequently mooted as Liverpool's suitors emerged after it was reported that a Tyneside-based group of businessmen were putting together a £250 million takeover bid and they want former club captain Alan Shearer on board.

"Alan has been contacted by a group who want to try to buy Newcastle," a source close to the talks said yesterday.

"They're from the North East. What they want from Alan is not his money but his support, his blessing."

Newcastle have regularly been at the centre of speculation suggesting Ashley is ready to sell up.

The club have undergone major upheaval since he took over last summer. As well as sacking Sam Allardyce and replacing him with Kevin Keegan, the sports retail tycoon appointed Dennis Wise as the club's director of football.

Over the weekend Ashley and club chairman Chris Mort were the subject of a thinly veiled attack from Allardyce.

"Huge businessmen, multimillionaires in their own right, very clever men, but never been shouted at," Allardyce said.

"They can't stand the pressure, their knees buckle, they don't stand strong and they use the easy option to take the pressure off themselves. They have to be the strongest ones and often they're the weakest ones."

Hopefully nothing in this one, as I have heard the deal with Gillett is just about ready to be revealed as done and dusted. Should be soon now(touch wood)

theyll come 2 liverpool over arsenal dont 4get the main reason they wanna do this is becoz one of his sons is a liverpool supporter ( that an the serious bones theyll pocket over the years)

i think the idea of doing an abramhovic & getting 2 design a new staduim appeals 2 them aswell

we all know how them dubains like 2 build

In terms of influence in a game, I´d go for Souness.
As a pleasure to watch and enjoy, Rushie.
Narkie git, Kenny.
Workhorse, Sammy.
Hopelessly big heart and used to tie himself in knots: Emlyn.
Lazy bugger but always worthy of his place: Molby.
Cheeky bugger: Fowler.
Peace of mind, the twins Hansen and Lawrenson.

None of the current side would get anywhere near my first team. (for the doubters, Souness/Gerrard? Man and Boy.)

PS: Nanny, didnt Cally only get booked once or something daft like that in all those games?
