Be fair nanny, even if Beasley is on the sunday supplement, it's alot better now Jimmy Hill isn't on it.

Some very funny bits in this interview, I'll translate, proceed with interview, edit the post and so on in the next half an hour (as long as it's not covered in the previous briefing of Saint in the previous page)

Rafa defends Liverpool. Even the weather

Journo: Plus, the rain in England and all that
Rafa: In Liverpool there's not so bad weather as people think.
Journo: Come on Rafa, Now you're gonna tell me Liverpool is Marbella, it's ok you're in love of all that but
Rafa: It's true!
Journo: But that rain, that grey atmosphere
Rafa: It's not grey, that's London. It's beautiful. We had a sunny day today, I was walking by the beach and it was pleasant.

The tone of conversation was amusing, but Rafa defended the Liverpool corner! :laugh:

On international games

He insisted in the old points of the inconvenients of international games. Put the absurd example of the Mascherano game in LA against Guatemala, but also suggested that when you're making a thorough and calculated work on a player and suddenly the international coach decides to work other training aspects, the risk of injuries increase. In general the points made he's already made them.
He blames the calendar.

Stubborn, he wants to stay

Dismissed the question of, "would you have accepted England Job?" with a "I didn't even consider it, I'm happy here". The journo insisted, "Are you sure of that, really?" Yes I am, answered.

On the sub-rag

He explains how NOWT manipulated an interview he made in Spanish in El Mundo (I read it and was calmed and correct). The journo asks how they manipulated, and Rafa explained that they mixed answers and questions. They picked a question of their chosing, and then they pasted Rafa's answer to another question. It was not a proper translation.

Rafa also says that the relationship with the americans is "quite good". That must be understood as Not gread, but not bad. More importantly he says that the contact with them is permanent now.

It was a nice one. It's always a pleasure to hear him with a Middle Spain accent and with the nuances. Quite reasurring, it doesn't seem to me he wants to leave whatsoever (I thought he might be more than tempted).

That doesn't really fit in with what I read about the Mascherano deal. I read they havn't spoken to the Yanks in a week?

BTW I thought the Masch deal was supposed to be completed within a week of the transfer window closing. Its two weeks and counting now!

How shameful though that Tescos could be built before weve even got the footing in.

IMO this stadium will never get started while Hicks is in charge
