DIC were said to be making another bid. It's probably already happened and the deal is done.

Emerald mate they have just asked for a 350 million pound loan to pay back the last one.

They cannot in one years time ask for another loan of 400 million for the stadium because quite simply we cannot afford to repay it.

Am I missing something here? So the 350m loan isn't to help finance the stadium as well?

No mate the £350 million loan is to pay off the £298 million loan they took out last year to buy the club . They will need to take a further loan out to pay for the new stadium , in the region of £300 to £400 million. NIce  of them don't yer think.

F'ckin hell. And there was me thinking this whole time that they bought us with their own f'cking money. Why I didn't realize or even bother to read more into it, I don't know. I'm guilty of a lack of knowledge on that aspect.

But FFS, that makes it 10 times worse than I thought. So this loan they are paying for, is it going on our books as our debt plus the future loan for the new stadium? If so, that would mean we'd be like 700 million in dept. Is this correct?

Bingo, Bango, Bongo this is why the fans have gone ballistic they promised they would not take out loans in LFC's name but the whole club is responsible for the debt.

Its not called LFC though its called Kop Football Limited Caymen Islands but its the same thing just a different name.

Yes mate exactly!

And because of the way the interest rates are they will be paying back more than they first anticipated.Less profit for them=less money for LFC!

Its terrifying when you think of it,all that dept and that is before they have even bought a player for next season!

I was aware that they took a loan out before, but I just assumed it  was to pay for Torres and Babel and didn't think much more of it. I got my wires crossed in thinking that this loan was to pay for that and help build the new stadium. I thought we were going to be like 400 million in debt, which was serious enough. But 700! That is just pure madness and I cannot believe that there are actually some w@nkers on RAWK and other forums trying to take their side.

From PA...

REDS OWNERS TO GO PUBLIC SOON
By Martyn Ziegler, PA Chief Sports Reporter
Liverpool's American owners' have again delayed an announcement of a successful refinancing deal but an agreement should be made public tomorrow or Monday.
Co-owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett are on the verge of sealing a £350million package and had been expected to announce today that it had gone through.
There are no serious hitches however and it is understood the deal is all but signed off, and the announcement will include details of the chosen design for a new stadium at Stanley Park.
Of the £350million, more than £160million will be debt tied to Liverpool and around £190million covered by Hicks and Gillett's guarantees.
The £160million figure includes £105million new cash for the club - £65million to kick-start work on the new stadium, and a further sum of £45million of working capital including money for player acquisitions. The remainder is the existing debt the Americans inherited when they took over the club a year ago.
Hicks and Gillett are insisting however that the other £190million in the refinancing package - to cover their initial cost of buying the club - will not be loaded onto Liverpool.
Liverpool chief executive Rick Parry and former chairman David Moores, who is still a board member, have made it clear they oppose any of the takeover debt being loaded onto the club.
Now that doubts over the refinancing deal have evaporated, the Americans - particularly Hicks - face a struggle to win back the fans, not to mention manager Rafael Benitez.
Supporters staged protests against the owners at Anfield on Monday night, sparked by Hicks' revelation that he had sounded out Jurgen Klinsmann towards the end of last year as a possible successor for Benitez.
The supporters will also be watching carefully to see what happens to any profits Liverpool make - will they be used to service the club's debt or will a dividend be paid to the Americans' company Kop Holdings to service their debt?
Meanwhile, chances of Dubai Investment Capital (DIC) taking over Liverpool in the near future seem dead in the water.
It is understood Hicks spoke at length to DIC about selling up to them but they were unwilling to match his asking price.

They have to re-finance the loan I havent got a clue how it all works, DIC will be our new owners within the next fortnight apparently.

And these two kunts will have made a tidy profit for doing feck all in the last year apart from turning the club upside down.

Foster Gillette resigned last week BTW and is back in the States.

Normally I'd take this kind of rumor with a pinch of salt, but listening to that journo talk about his meetings with DIC earlier on a  local radio station, he sounded confident that DIC will almost certainly get what they are after. i wish and i hope to god that this is true... but i'll believe when it happens. nothing against you ciggs but i aint believing anything till it actually happens. i pray that this senario is true

After announcing the refinancing and stadium deal, they need to make some kind of statement giving 100% backing to the manager.
