For the refinancing to go through in such a fashion, Parry's signature, as a key player on the board, would be required, as well as those of Hicks, Gillett and the banks. If Parry refused to sign, his job could theoretically be at risk. If he signs, he risks the kind of fan backlash suffered by David Gill at Manchester United since the Glazer takeover at Old Trafford.

So DONT SIGN !!! He must resign to show that G&H are NOT welcome in Liverpool. They have to sell to DIC ....

I've watched ESPN Football focus ( asian viewers get to watch the programme) couple of days ago and the topic was about Liverpool and amongst the guest none other than Steve McMahon, and few others. I dunno it's shocking or not but most of the pundits that night esp. McMahon shows their support to the owners..(?!!!) ???  and at the same time slagging Rafa by comparing him to Arsene Wenger. Slagging Rafa..well they always do that but supporting the owners by saying that the two yanks was doing the right thing  and they are the right person to take charge of  Liverpool?...well that's absurd.

I was lookin back last night at some of the statements and articles that have been written since the takeover this one caught my eye . How the < :censored: could we have sold to these two :censored:  as far as im concerned now Parry needs to be run out of Liverpool

I know this maybe an old statement but theres a paragraph near the bottom which makes me feel sick that these yanks are in our club

Heart is ruling the head in Anfield pursuit by Al Ansari

Siobhan Kennedy:

Dubai International Capital (DIC) is an investment arm of the Dubai Government and its ruling king. As such, it has an almost bottomless pit of cash at its disposal.

The group is one of the largest sovereign wealth funds that are topping the headlines at the moment after coming to the rescue of the big American banks that need propping up in the wake of the global credit crunch.

The company is best known in Britain for its acquisition of the Madame Tussauds, the waxworks museum, which merged last year with Merlin Entertainments Group, although Dubai still owns 20 per cent of the combined company. It also owns Travelodge, the budget hotel chain, which it acquired for £675 million in August 2006, and Doncasters, the UK industrials company.

The investment arm of DIC is the same as any other private equity firm, such as Blackstone, KKR, or Permira, which ran into trouble last year over its acquisition of the AA. Private equity firms acquire companies using small amounts of their own cash and lots of debt. They then push through a restructuring or refocusing of the company and pay themselves a dividend once the company’s fortunes have turned around. After an investment period of about three to five years, private equity firms then sell or float the company if it is private.

Typically, their interest in companies is financially driven, but in this case, it is believed that Sameer Al Ansari, the head of DIC, is leading from the heart, not the head.

Having been educated at Liverpool University School of Law, Al Ansari is a big Liverpool fan and goes to Anfield several times a season, in the same way that Malcolm Glazer’s son, Joel, had a passion for Manchester United. How better to satisfy that passion than buying the club? It worked for Glazer and Al Ansari thinks it can work for him, too.

Like Glazer, Al Ansari knows the marketing power of Liverpool is huge and he wants to find a way to turn that appeal into profits. George Gillett Jr, the Liverpool co-owner, said in February 2007 that the Liverpool “brand” needed to be promoted in the Far East. “Liverpool is the No 1 brand in Europe. If you go to the Far East, Man Utd has historically been the No 1 brand, Chelsea has recently become popular,” he said.

In 2005, LiverpoolFC.tv, the digital media arm of the club, signed a partnership with China.com Inc to launch a Chinese language website and wireless service and spread the popularity of the brand in China. The global online membership of LiverpoolFC.tv stands at 28 million.

When Dubai’s first attempt to buy Liverpool failed last year, Al Ansari gave an unusually emotional response in a DIC press release. He said: “Liverpool is the most successful football club in English football history. It exists to win things for its supporters. It deserves to be in the hands of people who support it, who understand its history and legend and who share the enthusiasm and passion of its fans.

“I am sure I will be back at Anfield with my family soon to support my team, as I have done so in the last 30-plus years. In the meantime, I wish the manager, the players and everyone connected with the club the best of fortune for the challenges ahead and will make sure that I am there the day they lift the Premiership trophy

For me, the owner issue is purely about whether they have the money - I don't care if they sack RAfa,owners are entitled to sack underperforming manager.

It is crucial though that this great club is not bogged down in debt that it can barely finance. How successful has LFC been in growing "the brand" worldwide in the last few years?

Apparantly Manure have done this well with the glazers and the owners of LFC need to be able to do the same. The long term issues are

(1) debt
(2) brand
(3) stadium

Doug Ellis has just give an interview on SSN, he said G & H wanted to buy Villa they offered him 80 million extra, but he said he knew their intention where to borrow substantial amounts of money that Villa had no way of paying back and put the club perminantly in the red.

He said Gillette wanted to buy Villa with other peoples money.

He knew Learner was the better option and he is shocked that our American owners are never over here at our games.

If Ellis sussed this pair out Why didnt Moores?

He sold to learner for 20 million less than these sh!tehawks offered..

A purchaser always does an audit of the club, can a seller do an audit of the purchaser?

Parry got 500 thousand for going with the G & H deal.

Greed as to why David Moores needed to sell the family silverware to a pair of crooks it has to have been for the money.

He can salvage this though, the extra money he earned from G & H he can give them it back and say here is a tidy profit for doing feck all apart from fecking the club up in less than a year.

He owes it to us so does his concience.

The 'brand' has increased dramatically since a certain Mr Benitez pulled off an amazing Champions League win!

If you ever bother to take yourself to Anfield you will notice that since 2005 the volume of 'fans' from all over Europe and Asia  has increased dramatically also as a result of or C/L win.The shop at Anfield and in the C/C are bunged with tourists on matchday as well!
So i dont think you can say that the 'brand' has not become more global.

Just how global do you want to become?
As a result of this i know people from Liverpool who have been red since they were born and cant get tickets,or at least find it very difficult, even some with fancards!

Then on matchday busloads of Scandanavians etc. turn up with their tickets and cameras!
Thats the flipside of becoming global...I suppose we should blame Raffa and our team for winning the most memorable C/L final ever eh lad? :D

And if you dont care if they sack Rafa...who would you in your wisdom suggest to replace him....Let me guess??
Jose? O'Neill?.......dont make me laugh!

A spokesman for Hicks and Gillett in New York declined to confirm that the re-financing deal was about the be announced.

Sources close to DIC offered a firm "no comment" today on the latest speculation that Hicks and Gillett were about to announce their new financial plans.

Parry dont sign the deal for the loan.

I can't stand these two b@stards but maybe they will not be so tight financially as some may think.  I mean you don't hold talks with someone like Klinsmann if you're not planning on spending a lot of money on transfers.  I think that this summer the owners may surprise us with some quality players if they decide to keep Rafa.

I think they do probably have more money for the team but like some owners will only get that money out when they get there own man in.  Keegan for instance will get serious funds at Newcastle as this is the owners guy.
