On Sky News... not SSN it is saying that H & G are struggling to get the finances sorted.. RBS are apparently unhappy to lend them what they need due to the credit crunch in America. They have 2 weeks to sort this out or they will have to sell...

the news seems to be a big part of the problem.

What have the Americans done wrong?

They sussed out another manager when the current one is struggling (Rafa spoke to the last owner when GH was manager).

They shouldn't have gone publc but Rafa was the one that brought it all out into the open - the public element of the dispute is 100% Benitez fault.

If they don't have as much access to money due to the credit crunch, stock market turmoil etc - that isn't their fault.

We should support the owners of LFC who have spent hundreds of millions on the club.

the Glazers have made a load of money from Manure being successful.

It is in their interests for LFC to win things.

People are fooling themselves if they think DIC are just going to throw money about and not be concerned with making profits. While DIC may be better than the Yanks u still have to expect them to be running the club as a business with the aim to make money.

You obviously havent read what Hicks has said in the past then.

They went public about Klinsmann a manager that is not the type we should be looking at for a start.

They promised they would not take loans out in the clubs name they are planning to put us into 700 million pounds worth of debt.

The interest rates on these loans are 30 million a year, there will be no money for new players.

We are no better off under their owner ship than we where with Moores for all them years.

Refinancing blow for US duo?
January 22 2008
Liverpool could be plunged into fresh turmoil amid reports their American owners have suffered a setback in their refinancing plans.

Already destabilised by speculation that George Gillett and Tom Hicks are considering selling the Premier League club, reports have emerged that the American duo's plans to refinance their loan have been hit.

The pair are understood to be struggling to secure the loan they require to pay back the original one with which they bought the Anfield outfit last February.

The Daily Telegraph claims that the 'refinancing deal is on the verge of collapse' while The Times states that 'sources in the City believe that the Americans' regime is crumbling by the day'.

The news will not be met with disappointment by the Merseyside giants' supporters who made their antipathy with the American regime loud and clear during Monday night's 2-2 draw at home to Aston Villa.

If Hicks and Gillett are thwarted in their plans, then they may conclude they have no choice but to sell the Reds to the Dubai-based Dubai International Capital (DIC) group.

The Daily Telegraph reports that 'time is running out for the Americans to conclude the loan agreement. Contrary to reports that they had until the end of February to sign the deal, it is now understood their one-year loan with RBS expires in just under two weeks.'

Speculation was rife at the weekend that DIC had formally bid £500million for Liverpool.

However, it is now believed that the offer was informal and only in the region of £300million - prompting Hicks to issue a defiant statement announcing he had no intention of selling his stake.

DIC, however, will not launch a formal offer until they have held talks with RBS but Hicks has refused to grant the group permission to talk to the bank until any refinancing deal is completed.

Should the refinancing collapse, then DIC - run by Reds fan Sameer Al Ansari - would be in a position to move in.

What I dont understand is if Hicks was such a dodgy character with a shady past why was he allowed to buy the club. If its so easy for everyone else to see what he has done and said in the past why couldnt the previous owners realise he shouldnt have been allowed anywhere near LFC? Or is it they like the Yanks wanted to make as much money as possible out of the sale regardless of who it went to. They should have to answer to why they chose the Yanks over DIC?

I cannot possibly see how we can ever win the league with such high interest rates. If the Americans stay that means we're going to be on a very strict budget until the stadium is built, so don't expect any title challenges anytime soon.

I don't know Moores personally but he comes across to me as a nice bloke but maybe a little niave. If i remember rightly DIC wanted to buy the club, but because there was so much dithering they decided to put a deadline on their offer. Moores decided that Liverpool FC was not going to work to anyones deadlines and eventually the yanks were the only show in town. They basically they killed Moores with kindness and promises and Moores bought it. I wonder how he feels now?

Are you sure you don't mean £12 billion Ciggy, £12 trillion is an awfull lot of money!!! There's only about £30 trillion in the whole world and whilst DIC are big, I'm fairly certain they don't control half of it!!! :cool:

no he does meen that i read some where they own like 2% of all american land + alot in other countrys they are mega rich beyound any thing you can think makes roman look like a paper boy.

Just this building cost like 37 billion to make
