How much you think he got paid extra to characterize the situation at Liverpool FC as a "Civil War"?

If we are all getting this worked up over not knowing who will own the club in a few months, just think about the effect it is having on Rafa and the players.
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

I honestly do not think that it would effect the players anywhere near as much. Sure, they may hear the rumours and news coverage as much as we do but they are closer to the subjects of the rumours that are there to reassure them that it is all bullsh*t. It is much easier for Rafa or management to hold some talks in the dressing room and laugh about what is in the newspaper and conclude how it is all cr*p. We, as the public, are so susceptible to the media that when we hear/read it we run with it and there is nobody there to stop us. And then, when you don't expect it, the media pumps you with more cr*p.

Get your facts right you thick c*nt.

We finished 5th after Rafa's first season, with a squad depleted by injuries.

Then we finished 3rd 2 seasons running.

And this season Rafa claims to have the best side since he started here and 4th place isnt even assured? So what does that mean?

1st place isn't impossible, though.

Think about it that way instead - your heart may thank you one day. :D

I second the thick c*nt comment.

Maybe you can put your award for shittiest poster beside Rafa's little award you gave him.

I think we really need to hold our tongue when judging a team/season based on a dip in form. Let's save the judging for the end of the season.

I shared that optimism a few months ago but Lando with the way we have been playing at home I just cant see it happening even if technically its still possible. All this off the pitch talk cant be good for team morale either. I know where your coming from though.

Not impossible, but I think you would have more chance of striking a match on a jelly.  :D

Even without the recent downturn in our results we needed a couple of new players, without them AND with our recent results, theres more chance of Jessica Alba finally getting me into bed.

Never argue with an idiot Lando. They bring you down to their level, then beat you with experience.

Lads, I'm on holiday at the moment so a quick comment only.

There are a lot of Rafa / G&H related threads out there so I'm just gonna post in this thread but the comments apply to the other discussions.

Situation (based on the rumours and newspaper articles people have posted).

1. G&H bought the club with good intention but are highly leveraged and was to be based on debt injecion into LFC.
2. Due the sub prime mortgage problem, they can no longer reschedule that debt. Effectively they are paralysed.
3. Due the above we are revising the stadium plans.
4. The stadium decision has been delayed 14 days because they dont have the cash and because apparantly the club is talking to DIC again and the decision would be DIC's anyway.
5. Parry regardless of what the doom and gloom merchants think is working his butt off to renegotiate a deal with DIC that will allow the dead-in-the-water G&H out and bring in urgently needed liquidity in the shortest possible time.
6. Rafa - now catch this - has probably worked hand in hand with Parry and Moores to bring this situation to a head by having his public tantrum with G&H. P&M have told Rafa there's trouble at t'mill with insufficient funds available to complete the purchase, refund the stadium so forget transfers. Moores whispers to Rafa, and Rafa does what Moores cant do - bring the issue to a head by publicly by  demanding funds (in such an un-Liverpool way) thus in reality putting all the pressure on the new owners to realise they cant go thru with the purchase and running of the club and must get out.
7. Rafa therefore is not in fear of losing his job as he is actually just making it crystal clear to the owners that they dont have the funds to stay in the game.
8. Recent poor results underline to G&H that they dont have the squad and have to get out.

Summary
1. The 2 week stadium decision is the key to the timescale in my opinion ref G&H selling to DIC. The RBS loan refinancement also points to this.
2. Rafa will stay and come out a stronger character and manager as a result.
3. We have to write off this season as a false start and look to build for next season, priority now is a top 4 place and do our best in this years CL.

Yes its been a bad experience but lets STOP blagging Rafa and try to see things from a different angle. As usual there are a number of clues out there and we just need to piece them together to come up with a more plausible situation.

Forza Rafa, Moores and Parry.

Beer time, back on hols.

Good little story that but unfortunately it doesnt seem to fit in with the "known" facts.

1/ Rafa's fall out with the Yanks started after the CL FINAL well before the sub prime rates became a problem

2/ Parry was out of a job if DIC had taken over before, I think after "slighting them " he would still find the exit door hitting him on the way out.

3/Parry and Rafa have been at odds for a long while, and while this may all be part of some cunning plan to fool the yanks , I some how doubt it.

4/ Parry working his butt off ?

5/ The yanks have allowed Rafa to buy a player, if they had already accepted that they were on the way out I think they would have seen no reason to do so.

Nice story mate , I wish it was true, as it might be the only one were we all live happily ever after  :D
