so thanks for proving my point, these 3 players are a must for every game and should not dropped or pushed out to left or the right in the hope that it will work, and especially do not fob us off with some bollox that birmnigham will sit deep so torres cant play against them
But Gerrard was pushed out to the right just two matches ago, in Newcastle. A game that also featured Sissoko at CM and Kuyt up front. Are you telling me that you felt that that was a sensible team selection?
BTW, the team selections and real rotation numbers match by match are now up in the rotation thread if you have any interest in talking about facts rather than myth.
lets talk when you have actually been a game eh bob then i might respect your views a little more
see i can make stupid comments as well
That's not exactly what I'd call a good argument.
FFS we've just mullered a side that turned over the champions, and are capable of giving any team a game. The starting 11 was rotated substantially from midweek, and equally as substantially from our last Prem game. If you think the last 5 games are evidence that Rafa's policy on selection are to be questioned, then you're off your f*cking nut. Anyone reading about the games the day after in braille would get that.
When we weren't scoring, that's because our players weren't scoring. No conspiracy. Since our slump, we've had goals from Benayoun on the right, and Babel on the left and right. Kewell's had his hand in a goal or two since his return. Gerrard's set-pieces are suddenly finding their range, so we're seeing Kuyt put them in off his knee, and Sami stick his nut on one or two as well. These are all things that weren't happening in October. Rafa can't coach these things or select these players and make them occur - they either happen or they don't, and in my view it's entirely a form thing.
Today was the most recent example of Rafa using much the same personnel, but with the personnel making more use of their respective talents. Kewell and Lucas aside, it's a line-up we've probably seen before this season, but we currently look far more potent. That's due to our current good form and the fact that the players featuring are free of injury, and not some new selection policy. The fact that our new signings are all well bedded in now doesn't hurt either.
