Just been reading the Independent and they are saying that Foster hasn't spoken to Rafa since he returned to England (before the Porto game) and that Rafa hasn't received any of his usual congratulatory E-mails (or contact)from Gillett or Hicks since the game either.

do you know what Saint sometimes i wonder if they have gotten in way over there head in buying us .

Its not the quick turn around of money making that they are used to. And the ammount of money that they are borrowing frightens me. Id sooner have Rafa and a great team that we have now than a new Stadium any day. Cause ive got fears that once the stadium is built it wont just be used as our ground . Ok yes ours on match days but when its not being used i can see them coming up with idears of ways to fill there pockets to get back money theve spent

Classic case of no smoke without fire. Everyone keeps saying Rafa should have been more sensible and not gone public. But put yourself in his shoes - the club is owned by yanks who are never there and don't seem to understand the game, the club is run by mr invivisble who could have cost us gerrard and a myriad of top signings. Would you not get frustrated and want a bit of a rant?

It really looks like Rafa is running the whole ship, without an assistant, without interested owners and with a :censored: of a chief exec. And he still finds time to rotate :D

But he isnt though is he? As was made clear to him, he coaches the team and parry sorts out the transfers and the yanks are abroad sorting out there other businesses and raising funds for there other businesses (ie. LFC).

I can understand the owners being busy but even im struggling as to why parry is here. In another way though, what goes around comes around, the way rafa has treated crouch is appalling, what more does the guy have to do to start consistently? Crouch is simply a player. Rafa is simply the manager. Parry is simply errr.....something. !!

it's not exactly the same Kharhaz... as you said Rafa is the manager so he has the right to pick his squad however he wants...

the relationship between the owner and the manager is different... in order to show solidarity and stability the owner has to show support for the manager... whether they gonna get rid of him in the summer or not... hopefully it's like how sabre said maybe everything is blown out of of scale and proportion by the media and the owners don't see the need to do anything... however rick parry is full awar of what's going on here and at least he should make a statement in support of rafa... the fact that there's no statement shows that parry doesn't have permission from the owners...

Even a quick throwaway line from Parry denying any knowledge of plans to sack Rafa would be better than nothing. If Rafa's future rests on the one match against Marseille something is very wrong with our owners. Even the bitterest anti-Rafa brigade members would reserve judgement until the summer surely?

Even the most beleaguered managers usually get a vote of confidence and a few games to get things right. What the hell is Parry doing besides shopping for new ties?

Of course!

It'll be madness to sack him now. Would put our entire season into turmoil.

Don't know what the f*ck's going on with Parry...... I expect a whole lot more from someone in his position. All this drama and suspense can't be doing any good for us surely?

Ive said right from the beginning that a lot of the stories coming out are just someones opinion and from that the amount of rubbish that has been highlighted on here lately from various tabloids has annoyed me no end. Its just speculation, a persons opinion and using quotes on what rafa has said and twisting his words into something else, thats what they are paid to do.

I dont think parry does know what hes meant to do, look at the only statement he has released in all of this. I think rafa has spoken directly to the owners and because they are busy elsewhere with the other companies have fobbed him off and said "look, transfer window january, we'll talk midway december" and this has frustrated rafa, he wants things now, who doesnt? my kids know weve got them presents for xmas already, and they want them now, but they will have to wait. Like us, and rafa. And its because rafa has spoken directly to the owners parry  hasnt a clue what is going on. How can he comment on something he doesnt have the facts on?

I think that Rafa is brilliant in his job, and Gillette and hicks, ar brilliant in their business knowhow, and coming into LFC incurring a huge 80m debt, arranging finance for the new stadium, and giving Rafa funds.

I think you all need to be more grateful to the new owners.

I just wish Rafa , would stop coming out in public with comments derogatory to the new owners.

whatever the issue, keep it behind closed doors.

It will cost him his job.

Get rid of him at yer peril ... no-one will come manage at a club that gets rid of RAFA BENITEZ

Rafa's in clear
EXCLUSIVE
By Simon Mullock 02/12/2007

Rafa Benitez was last night told by Liverpool's American owners that his future is secure.

Dallas-based billionaire Tom Hicks, who along with George Gillett paid £218m to buy the Merseyside club 10 months ago, finally broke his silence on the row which threatened to blow Anfield apart.

Hicks contacted Sunday Mirror Sport to insist that Benitez (above) is safe.

Hicks said: "George and I will be in UK between December 13 and 17 and plan to meet with the manager then. We get along just fine with Rafa. A small difference was escalated into a huge issue, which was unfair to Rafa. He has the team playing very well now and we have big games ahead of us."

Benitez will appreciate that Hicks has publicly stated his willingness to put the episode behind him.

Reports last week suggested Benitez was on the brink of the sack after voicing his frustration at being blocked from setting up transfer deals for the forthcoming transfer window.

Hicks was said to be particularly angry, but he now seems to have accepted the Spaniard's demand that lines of communication across the Atlantic are improved.
