Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby 112-1077774096 » Sun Nov 25, 2007 10:25 am

mate rafa has been told it will be discussed when they are here in the middle of december

i am really puzzled about what is so hard to understand about this, people on here dont seem to understand and rafa doesnt seem to understand, am i the only one who understands that they will discuss in december when they are here how much money will be made available, and until that time rafa n eeds to concentrate on winning games. now he has made a big issue and it will be taking focus away from his job, and that is to win games that we have before the transfer window even opens.

sorry but rafa has made a rod for his own back here

But the point is Rafa needs to assess players NOW, saying "we'll discuss it in mid-December" a) is fobbing him off and b) isn't good enough.

Or maybe you think having two weeks to assess targets for the January window is acceptable? I think they're going to say he can have whatever he generates from sales and Rafa KNOWS exactly that. If they are delaying but will give money then you can't blame him for drawing the same conclusion I did, he needs to know now and leaving it way too late to discuss it indicates there may be nothing to discuss

or maybe they dont know how much money he will have to spend as he has made such a mess of CL qualifying, maybe they are waiting for that, maybe if we dont qualify he will be out of a job anyway. lots of maybes mate.

the fact is he had money to spend in the summer and then leaves these expensive signings on the bencjh or in the stands a lot of the time, i think its a fair comment to tell him to concentrate on the players he has now considering it is now rafas team, and then it will be discussed in december.

but however you want to look at the rights and wrongs of this, rafa going public and behaving like a spoilt kid has done him no favours whatsoever

lets just leave it there eh before it gets boring for everyone else  :;):

lol god or mighty, plz forgive me for i have sinned.  I have been a naughty boy, as i have missed a letter out while replying to one of the peewee's post's.

Peewee you are funny.  Have you noticed the way nobody has joined in with you lol  What planet are you on?

You ave found me out oldchap your just to good for me lol

But managers have their eyes on players for months/years and if he has identified targets to bring in in January and also given a guarentee that he can sign Mascherano permenant I dont see the problem why they dont say.

Pick who you want sign, sign Masch up and we will sign the cheques on December the 16th.

Its very simple.

Look at the Glaziers Nani, Anderson, Hargrieves and Tevez nearly 80 million pound spent on four players without batting an eye lid.
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

but they have not just earmarked over 400 million quid for a ground gigs.

personally i amazed at the vitriol being aimed at the owners, they backed him in the summer, they came good on the new ground, ok maybe they will borrow which is normal in business, they always borrow and pay a lower intereset rate on the gains theie own money is getting in investments, and even now they are not saying he cant have any money, they have told him to wait until they are here and they will discuss it, i dont see any problem to be honest.

rafa has turned it into something it isnt, threw hiw dummy out the pram and made himself, the fans and the club a laughing stock

I would also point out that I dont blame Rafa for our poor performances in the CL I blame the players for playing shite in them games we got beat.

They where woeful and I think it was down to lack of hunger from the older heads been there done that wore the T-shirt cant be @rsed with it this season

Plus lack of experience from the new players.

I dont blame Rafa atall for the way we have played in the Cl this season the finger is firmly pointed at the players on this one.

I have blamed him for his silly rotations that he does in the prem but not for this one.

Cigs.... whose team is this? Rafa's of course.... he bought and selected the players, they play his system... it's his job to motivate them when required and discipline/drop them when the situation warrants it.

Nah Ciggy... in this, I disagree..... the buck stops with Rafa, it's his responsibility and what he's PAID to do..... The man is an employee not god....

ANd dragging the good name of the club though the mud via the media is unforgiveable imo. This is not how LFC does business. This approach he has taken is childish and sheer idiocy.... If he does go for this, then he's brought on himself.

For me, I couldn't be @rsed if he went..... I don't like the way we play under him. My only concern is the turmoil this outcome would put my club in.

And on the Maureen issue. No way would I want him..... As I've said time and time again, for me, THE ENDS DO NOT JUSTIFY THE MEANS.

If Rafa is sacked, then so be it. But a big fat "NO" to Jose M.

Right im gonna get on me soap box

As far as im concerned Rafa Benitez is this clubs most prized possesion, ive been going to Anfield since 1969 ive seen our other great managers and ive waited since kenny was our boss for another manager (not coach) to come a long and deliever us the same greatness that we had then. Well we have got him he has proved that in the 3 years hes been here. could you imagine Shanks or Paisley being told just coach and let others buy the players , Not on your :censored: life. FFS Shanks used to go himself and do the deals in hotels.

Ok times have changed and as people keep saying fotball has now become a buissiness well icant see our buissiness manager doing to much wrong.

I Had reservations when these yanks took over our club and now theve turned into fear wtf do these people know how the ordinary man in the street feels for this great club . :censored: all its a buissiness to them nothing else . they dont get tingles when the team run out on a Saturday They dont feel sick to the stomach when we get beat. They dont know what its like to be a red.
But in my heart i think Rafa does.

The man loves this :censored: club and i find it unbelievable that anyone can suggest he wants to get the sack (eh Peewee lad) which greater club can he go than ours.

As far as having Maureen as our manager i would go as far as to say id sooner have the drunk up the m62 than him and my hands are shakin even saying that. But at least the drunks loyal.

If Rafa Benitez leaves this club it will be a :censored: tradgedy. Ill tell you what Murph lad you wont be the only one there showing your support for Rafa 40,000 others will be as well mate me included.

Right time for me to get slated now:D

Get slated for speaking your mind and wearing your heart on your sleeve, Nanny?

Why on earth would anyone do that? We all want the same thing..... just have different opinions on the manner in which we go about acheiving them.

Stay on your soapbox ma'am. You've every right.

I'd rather hear an impassioned plea anytime.... even if I don't agree with it.

:D    well he is doing a great impression of someone who wants to get the sack.

nanny i would love to echo your sentiments but i just can not see rafa taking us any further, just an opinion. i do not see rafa as some god like figure unlike most on here, i do not think he is perfect unlike most on here, i do not think he is a tactical genius, unlike most on here. he is s decent manager who has done a decent job with a big budget, but the guy has made the same mistake now for the last 3 seasons in the league and he will go on making that mistake as long as he is here.

if he gets it right and proves me wrong then i will be made up, after all the club comes forst for me, not some individual that in my opinion still has to prove himslef in the biggest competition of them all, the league
