I wouldnt be sad to see him go, I am not a fan of crouch at all.
He scores goals which is great of course but his overall play is not good enough, also the one thing he should be good at (heading and ariel presence) he is :censored:

IMO we can get somebody much much better than him, or at least more realiable.

I am fully aware people on this forum love him but I for one certainly do not

i dont love the guy but i think he offers more than kuyt, not just because of his height, i think he is a better all round player than kuyt, like some have said on here, you need more than hard work and i think thats all kuyt offers.

Unless we could get an absurd amount of money for him and top-quality replacement, he's going NOWHERE

whizz the ball in from out wide to his feet or chest height and Crouchy will score. Forget his head.

Peewee hopefully we'll see what Kuyt can do this season. I am very optimistic that he won't have to track back to much this season, and with better service, he'll bag a few.

Im sorry everyones entitled to an opinion but that post is complete W*nk you state his overall play isnt good enough, what about highest cross comp top 3 pass comp most assists most goals a hatrick agaist arsenal an overhead kick and one the best goals of cl and then followed it up with another a few days later, hold up play second to none, think about it he can take down a head height ball with one touch with his chest and put it in the path of a rampaging Gerrard. And all that while being under played.

And while im at it why is heading the "one thing he should be good at", height has nothing to do with heading ability it just make it a little easyer to get above a defender, Ian Rush is about 6.2 yet couldnt head a ball to save his life but that didnt matter cus it wasnt his game. Crouch has got touch, skill, control many goals and assists and if you care to look back youll see that he does score with his head like agaist utd, chelsea and many for england he's alot more than a Sutton or a Koller.

its not just the tracking back mate, his finishing is woeful.

maybe i have just been spoilt with the likes of fowler, owen and rush, all superb finishers and i expect all strikers to be able to do that, kuyt just doesnt have it for me mate

The only thing that he has is his height ... if only he's improve on his jumping and heading ... he can become 20 goal per season machine but ... until now he still cannot jumping and heading correctly.

BTW ... Is there any other player who is tall, strong and can head the ball properly? If yes , maybe Rafa should buy that player and sell P.C ....

I would be greatly dissapointed if we sold Crouch. First of all, he's english and we need to have a certain number of english players on the squad. He was also our top scorer last season playing less games than Kuyt, being also one of the top scorers in the Champions League. The fact that he is tall doesn't mean he has to be good at heading the ball, actually I think he is too tall and it puts him at a more awkward angle for heading. Most of his goals he is actually crouching (

) to head the ball, while for example Luis Garcia, one of the shortest members in the squad was great at heading the ball since he could jump and balance his body better. I'm really looking formward to him teaming up with Torres, as for Kuyt, even if I repeatedly said he would be a great asset to the squad, I now believe he should be fourth choice stiker, maybe even fifth after Babel if we were to use him up front.

come on guys we all know crouch is the most skillful DADDY LONGLEGS in the game of football never sell.

Just because some people dont get how a guy that big can play that good they get all freaked out and say he just isnt good enuff.

If he stays i bet in 5-6 years you all be going wow remember that guy crouch he was a great player scored some wicked goals LEGAND !

Unlike Cisse when Crouch controls the ball he manages to have it quite stick to his feet, which is useful to hold the ball a couple of seconds before delivering it to the team mates that are going up.

Crouch uses his sharp elbows well to protect the ball, and backwards to the goal, it's quite difficult to steal him the ball without actually making a foul.

He has a more than decent, I'd say even good footwork, he changes the ball of feet to make quick shots very well, he's technically good.

And he's not been expensive. I think that for some strange reason he's been underrated, and watch out, Valencia is thinking of paying 20 Million Euros for Zigic, a player of the same body of Crouch, but that IMHO is worse than Crouch.

More than one member of this forum might be surprised of what another team might pay for Crouchy at the end of this season, for me, too underrated.

i agree totaly .

could go for alot but i really dont want to see him leave unless he isnt getting more then 15 games a season that is i wouldnt like it if he lost to much playing time as he deserves alot more. :glare:

Crouch for me last season was our best striker. He held up the ball brilliantly, which gave the teams lots of possession and Gerrard, Alonso etc a foundation to play on. He also showed last season that he is far more valuable than just being a 'plan b'. He was our top goalscorer, our best finisher and he scored very reguarly for club and country.

I get the impression if Crouch doesn't score then people turn on him or he shouldn't play the next game. However if Kuyt doesn't score people will praise his work rate... something doesn't add up for me.

Another thing to take note of regarding Crouch is how often when starting games, he rarely finishes them. Benitez seems to sub him off around 60 minutes. If you add this to the fact for a large percentage of last season Bellamy and Kuyt were the first choice, then his goalscoring ratio looks even more impressive.

I'm a big fan of his, he's unique and I hope he plays a lot of games this season. I think he'd be great along side Torres, where he can take the pressure off him, by holding up the ball and allowing Torres to concentrate on the skill and playing on defenders shoulders more.

A key player for our club and country. If Bent is worth 18 million, then Crouch is worth 20, in my opinion.
