Just have lurked the Barcelona propaganda (although sold as a newspaper) DIARI SPORT.

There's some unrest in their surrounding (known here as "el entorno"). They doubt about the defensive system, and they slash Ronaldinho because literally he's stuck in mediocrity and he doesn't train hard, which explains the mediocrity.

Those are words of their main paper, not mine. Barcelona is a big club, but when things doesn't go well the unrest rapidly spreads, in that sense, LFC is much more stronger. There were boos yesterday against Alaves, for instance. Basically their unrest level is dependant on La Liga, if they're behind Madrid, they have a crisis traditionally, and if they're on front, there's not. Now they're on front of Madrid but their expectations are higher than ever... they'd better find a good form soon, or we might have another crisis in "can Barça". Rijkaard broke the glass beside the bench with the punch. They're not in their best moment, but everything changes quickly there, a couple of victories can restore the calmness.

Also, there's some delay in the comeback of Etoo. They expected to recover him in the 28 of this month, but it will have to be in February, according to DIARI SPORT.

On a bonus note, they interview Luis Garcia, who's happy with how the injury is going and is more quiet since he talked with xavi who had the same injury. LG says that he's already thinking in the next preseason with LFC. Looks like he doesn't plan to move nowhere :)

exactly like Madrid, is bad for a teams with big rivality go under the other, and i think this is good for football. And no all the supporters are in ''crisis'' when barça loses, only a sector, not ALL the barcelonism.

Cheers redmikey, I always could come as an alter ego, but then I'm afraid you'd recognize me in the second post :D

I have a story about Van Gaal that probably our Barcelona guests don't know and is interesting. I used to think Van Gaal was some sort of dictator and a cúnt, but I knew something of him that I liked a lot. I have a friend in barcelona who used to work in maintenance there. The Barcelona team was in the dressroom before training, and it turned out to happen that the washing woman just washed the floor of the corridor to the pitch and still was wet. The Barcelona players were going to step on the floor and keep walking to the pitch. But Van Gaal asked the woman how much time it would require to dry, and he commanded the players to wait until it was dry.

I think it's a good lesson of respect to the work of other members of the club, no matter how humble those members are. I liked that story much and I have another idea about Van Gaal since then.

Watched Espanyol completely tear them apart the other night. Barca could easily have lost 6-0, and probably should have let alone could have. Espanyol were organised at the back, which was a good feat considering they had a couple of 20 year olds in defence. Absorb their attacks, and hit them on the break.

It was good to see because with our quality- Bellamy's pace, Gonzalez' pace and Pennant's pace, along with Alonso's and Gerrard's passing ability, we really could get at them. A 4-2-3-1, with Kuyt, Gerrard, Bellamy and one of Pennant/Gonzalez (or- if Kewell's back, him) as the attacking 4, and Alonso and Momo sitting back, we really could turn this lot over.

Cultured in defence, and incisive on our breaks- there really is no reason that we can't beat them. Ronaldinho was poor. His unwillingness to work hard to get the ball back after he's lost it really could come in handy, specially seeing as we have width in our team and brilliant passers of the ball. Eto'o will be the main man we have to worry about.

and Deco, he's the engine that puts the car in motion. Fantastic passer of he ball, excellent technically, hard to get possession off, has an outstanding workrate and can score goals.

Agreed, we cannot get fixated about Ronaldinho, Deco is a brilliant player and has a good work rate and range of abilities. It will be interesting to see how we will set ourselves up to play against the two of them.. The formation is going to be very important, maybe the reason for the 4-3-3 experiment a few weeks ago?

Went to the Barca match vs Alaves on Tuesday night, and I have to say they were f*cking average at best.

A near-enough full-strength side featuring all but Valdes, Eto'o and Messi I believe.

Ronaldino would die on his a*sehole in England. He would not cope AT ALL. He is slower than a snail enjoying a sabbatical year in a mud puddle. To be perfectly honest - he looked overweight and uninterested.

Barca's main plan throughout the match was:

1. Give Xavi the ball.

2. Hit it long to Ronaldinho.

Their defense was made to look amateur by a second division side, andtheir entire team dived around like babies in a hot bath.

We can have them. I'm telling you now.

Nice stadium, though. Even if it was half empty, despite a "Buy 1 get 3 free" scheme.

Another thing I noticed was that their entire fan base seems to be under the age of 12. And female.

Scary. :O

Our line up for that match was:

Jorquera
Oleguer - Marquez - Puyol - Sylvinho
Motta
Xavi - Gio
Ezquerro - Saviola - Ronaldinho

Thats 6 players who wouldn't play in a full strength team.
