BARCELONA 1-2 LIVERPOOL - ALL REACTION HERE......

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Larsson, Lando didn't say anything the Barcelona press isn't saying. OK, they're not saying they are 2nd division defenders, but they've been saying the defensive system isn't working. Lando's view is a bit more passionated but still, it's the same point.

As for the missing crowd of Alaves, that's a fact, and cannot be argued. In Barcelona and Spain in general most of the crowd goes to the stadium depending on the opposition and the success of the moment. Fact. I remember the times 3 years ago when my local stadium was crowded with 32000 people, and now if I can't go, nobody cares to go with my ticket season. We're now 20000. But I preffer 20000 loyal fans, than 32000 bandwagon supporters.

they're wary of us hitting form at the right time, that's for sure

http://www.fcbarcelona.com/eng/noticias/noticias/n07012014.shtml

forget what they say in barcelona. there is no way they wanted to draw us, especially knowing they have to play the second leg at anfield.

a few years back they bottled it big style at stamford bridge and were 3-0 down inside 15 minutes. if they thought that was an intimidating atmosphere they aint seen nothing yet.

well, camp nou have an average of assistance of 73.000 of the 110.000 of capacity that would be next year, few stadiums in the world can bring this numbers every week. I think the loyalty of our supporters is clear, and i say too camp nou like any other spanish stadium is not too noise like english stadiums, only in big games.

Ronaldinho has yet to regain his pre World Cup form, despite the odd nice moment. Also rumours that Barce are to cash in on him to Milan in the summer.

Rijkaard seems to be persisting with Edmilson as an anchor in the midfield, which is good for us. He's vastly overrated and won't like a fit Momo charging at him - the same goes for Xavi, he needs a bit of time on the ball to dictate the play.

There is NOBODY like Crouch in Spain, Puyol and Thuram (or hopefully Marquez) won't have experienced anything like him. They also like to build from the back and Kuyt's tireless chasing will irritate them no end.

There's also a slight bit of unrest in the camp....many think Ronaldinho isn't working hard enough for the team and Eto'o recently made some comments about Fatty Icelandic's limitations as a player.

Oleguer is getting his game at right back now, which seems to be playing to the Catalan gallery, as Belletti is a better player.

Messi might also be back in time, so whoever are out wide for us in midfield are gonna have to work their balls off helping out the full backs.

I think we've every reason to be confident of a good showing if we avoid injuries between now and then, get Momo back and keep it tight over there.

The second leg being at Anfield is a massive advantage too.

Good insight.

I still think Oleguer is their weakest link, I don't rate him that much.

Actually Ronaldihno, in the first half of the season was brilliant, simply scoring alot of goals and providing pin-point passes, but I don't know what happened to him right now. We really can't underestimate his football intelligence(his freekick against Bremen was sublime) and we still need to watch out for him, he and messi ofcourse. Eto'o is the one who scares me, his movment and off the ball is very dangerous, he can punish us severly if we make a defencive mistake, so Carra should be aware and if he marks him like he did on drogba then eto'o will do nothing in the game.

I agree with you about crouch, none of the defenders ever experienced a lanky player like him, so they can be surprised, but I think Riikjard would tell his defenders to be more aggressive (We know Crouch can fall easily).

Edmilson is too slow, I think he is a decent defender or defencive midfield, but Gerrard or Sissoko can give him a hard time.

Ronaldinho:

15 starts, 12 goals, 3 assists [La Liga]

6 starts, 2 goals, 1 assists [Champions League]

16 goals total [all competitions] in 25 starts

So I ask you, how is he not finding his pre-World Cup form?  :no

Zigic, Racing Santander, new in the league, he's one of the best signings this year. I think he can jump to a bigger club if he follows that way.

Image

He's a bit stronger than Crouch, but he's not as clever as him. Like every tall player, he doesn't jump much.

Zigic's height: 2,02, according to what I see, 2 cm more than crouch.

His goal-scoring ratio is fantastic though.

Deco is Barcelona's version of Garcia, he'll have an amazing game then you wont even notice him the next.

As for Ronaldinho, he was rubbish at the start of the season compared to the blistering form hes been in in the last couple of years, despite the amount of goals he scored (not sure how many were penalties but im sure there were a few), but now he is playing like a joke, Ive seen him in the last couple of games and he keeps trying his ridiculous flicks with his shoulder which bounce tamely to the opposition and I dont think Ive seen him make a forward run with the ball for a good few playing hours.

Deco is not like Garcia, ask Barca Murph. Giuly is more like Garcia, as he's inconsistent and gives the ball away cheaply.

We aren't talking about ordinary players here. Sure they aren't at the top of their game at the moment, but neither were our players at the beginning of the season. Let's not forget that this game is a month away which is plenty of time for them to regain their form.

About Ronaldinho's goals, only four or five have been penalties.
