BARCELONA 1-2 LIVERPOOL - ALL REACTION HERE......

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

I apologize for the misunderstanding, although it's true some IP are dynamic, usually it's strange people from different countries have the same IP.

And BTW

I thought i'd come back here to discuss the games, seems like the IQ of 99% of the posters has gone out the window

IQ is not dynamic, answers to posts are. If they talk with respect, they'll receive respect. Respect is something you don't have but you have to earn. I'm usually very polite with everybody, provided they show the proper respect to the forum in which they're guests.

Getting a ticket for the home leg would have been a piece of cake for me, but i couldn't make it to the game. Being a UK based Soci has it's draw backs :(

Another drawback about being a soci -a season ticket holder- is it's price, correct me if I'm not updated with that. AFAICT in F.C Barcelona you pay an important amount of money that will grant you the chance to watch footie, but also the other sections of F.C. Barcelona -- they have an important handball, basketball, and roller skating hockey section. But they pay quite a lot of money.

Normally in Spain we the socios pay for a season ticket and can go to every match but the ones that are declared of help to the club (normally Real Madrid-Barcelona with a discount). While I pay the affordable money of 300€ a year (In 3 stages, one of the cheapest of primera), I think that in Barcelona it's impossible to be a soci for less than 1200€, but I'm not updated, hopefully Barca Murph will correct me

I'm not a season ticket holder as there is a massive waiting list for that :(

The season ticket prices range from 105€ to 851€. But it all depends on what becomes available.

My Soci (membership) fee is currently 145€, that gives me the option to buy tickets to any match at anytime. I don't get any match tickets in that price.

At the moment i get to about 7 games a season. I shall be over there for the Catalan derby on Sunday  :)

Ah, I see. I knew Barcelona was somewhat different, in most Spanish clubs soci=season ticket holder. Thanks for the correction. I thought it was much more expensive than that, in fact, I'm astonished you can get a 105€ season ticket even if they put you in the "3er anfiteatro" the top part of the stadium from where you see the pitch very small.

Is it a first team?

Well, not really, although it wasn't bad,

Jorquera; Oleguer (Zambrotta, min.66), Puyol, Márquez, Sylvinho, Motta (Edmilson, min.73), Xavi, Gio, Ezquerro (Giuly, min.46), Ronaldinho y Saviola.

Oleguer is not good enough for that team, but he'll keep the place as he comes from the youth system, he won't play against us. Saviola instead of Gudjohnsen cannot be considered a bad change, there was Xabi, there was Ronaldinho...

The pattern of the games in which Barcelona struggles is simple, either Deco is missing, or he's well marked. Also you shouldn't wait them deep in your defence but making the pitch smaller instead with an advanced defence. Deco is more key player than Ronaldinho is because he makes the rest of his team mates better.

Anyway they weren't expecting to have a difficult night against a Segunda Division team, and they needed to show a good face after some shaky results. Alaves had important men missing for them like De Lucas, Astudillo or the Aussie Aloisi.

Motta is average at best, and he's slashed in forums like forobarcelona.net which is the best Spanish forum I've found (it requires signing up but I managed to get an account to lurk from a poster there). Stop Deco, that's the key mates.

Really? More than Ronaldinho?

My first reaction when we got the draw was to think that we could man-mark Ronaldinho with Ste G - not Deco

Ronaldinho is some sort of football bomb, Deco is the trigger of the bomb. Stop the trigger, then the bomb is nothing. I've seen that pattern when Barcelona has lost.

Ronaldinho is not very worker defending, and he doesn't like coming much to the middle to get the ball, so he's a bit dependant of the service the team provides him.

As for the man mark, my choice would be putting sissoko as a shadow of Deco. Gerrard must do what he does best, and he can't be too deep on our side of the pitch to take care of Ronaldinho, who also likes roaming so it's difficult to mark him individually.
