ok...now that we'r linked to klose ... fck kuyt !
Lets get one thing straight here.... Klose is a better player than Kuyt... in the German league...he's one of the best players out there....for the German national team...he's been their best player lately !
After the world cup, i thought a big club would go out there and try to price him away from WerderBremen but apparently...no big club ever did  !
For 8 mill or even 10 mill....i think he's a bargain.... a great striker that can score from different angles and unlike kuyt, is one i'v seen a sh!t lot of in the german league !
I tell you, he'd be perfect with liverpool's style of play ! + he has great technical abilities and is really creative.... a great striker all around !
i'v seen some games were kuyt plays with feynoord in the holland league.... he's a good player but their league is crappy !
I kinda get the feeling Rafa only wants to sign Kuyt so that he'd brag about it if kuyt turns out to be a big hit in the english league... quite honestly, i'd rather we sign a striker who is already proven as a great player and a great scorer at the highest level ( TREZEGUET or KLOSE ) ... kuyt would still make a decent signing imo , but given the other choices and their respective price tags,,,i dont see why we'r still going after kuyt !

Feyenoord striker Dirk Kuyt thinks he will end up at Liverpool instead of his prefered destination Newcastle United. Kuyt would love to replace Geordie legend Alan Shearer at Newcastle but it seems unlikely that the Magpies will match Feyenoord's asking price.

Kuyt told me last week that he desperately wants to sign for Newcastle United.

"I've always wanted to be a hero, I have that status now at Feyenoord and I want to achieve that at my next club too. I know quite a bit about Newcastle, they're one of the best supported teams in the Premier League and they're a typical English club. It would be a dream to play for them."

The striker is unsure whether he will be a Toon hero next season, though.

"I know Feyenoord are asking a massive fee and I don't know if Newcastle are willing to match that."

Liverpool are more likely to take the gamble and pay Feyenoord's asking price of around £10 million.

"I would consider a move to Liverpool, they're likely to progress to the Champions League group stages, I would love to play in that competition but my first choice is Newcastle."

Think enough time has been wasted on him if any of this is true

Sorry but that sounds like absolute rubbish, I don’t believe that for one minute.

Only the other day his preferred destinantion was anfield. TBH I'd like to see this transfer sorted once and for all; you just can't tell the truth from the bullshit anymore when it comes to 'quotes' from this guy.

Kuyt told YOU? Who? :D

Anyways, back to topic, I guess the main reason he chose Newcastle ahead of Liverpool was due to first team starts. With us, he won't be able to start as many games as he would have wanted unless he plays exceptionally well.

Also, if he wants to achieve such a "hero" status, I'm afraid we'll have to look elsewhere. We have no room in our squad for such one-minded selfish attitude.

If I could choose between Klose and Kuyt, I would most definitely go for Klose and if Liverpool has the oppurtunity, they should go for him.

Seems to me that a common thread in Rafa's signings is the player must show a strong desire to put on the red shirt first and foremost.  So either one) that story is a load of bull, two) we havent signed him yet because Rafa's still deciding whether his attitude is balanced by his skills and asking price or three) we're not intersetd in him at all - he's just a smokescreen.

Pesronally, I'd say one or three as I dont think Rafa would compromise on attitude tbh.

According to the local radio in my parts of the world, Liverpool may be more keen on Miroslav Klose now that Newcastle Utd have show interest and seem quite determined to meet every demand by Feyenoord.

Miroslav Klose has shown improvements in the past World Cup as Klinsmann had put him through some "homework" to use his feet more and to develop his left feet (this story came up during the 2006 World Cup) and he scored 4 goals with his feet and only 1 with his head, compared to all goals with his head at the 2002 World Cup.

Nono, I very well know who the reporter is. It's just that the style in which he expressed his thoughts was a bit queer to say the least. Which reporter in the right mind would address himself in a news report?

This is certainly becoming a long and tedious saga...I guess it will even blow the Alves deal away for tedium if Kuyt doesn't become a Liverpool player pretty quick. Now, according to some sources, Kuyt claims Newcastle was always his first choice!

Kuyt said at the weekend: "I know quite a bit about Newcastle, they're one of the best supported teams in the Premier League and a typical English club.

"I would consider a move to Liverpool - they're likely to progress to the Champions League group stages. I would love to play in that competition but my first choice is Newcastle.

"I've always wanted to be a hero."
