Feyenoord striker Dirk Kuyt thinks he will end up at Liverpool instead of his prefered destination Newcastle United. Kuyt would love to replace Geordie legend Alan Shearer at Newcastle but it seems unlikely that the Magpies will match Feyenoord's asking price.
Kuyt told me last week that he desperately wants to sign for Newcastle United.
"I've always wanted to be a hero, I have that status now at Feyenoord and I want to achieve that at my next club too. I know quite a bit about Newcastle, they're one of the best supported teams in the Premier League and they're a typical English club. It would be a dream to play for them."
The striker is unsure whether he will be a Toon hero next season, though.
"I know Feyenoord are asking a massive fee and I don't know if Newcastle are willing to match that."
Liverpool are more likely to take the gamble and pay Feyenoord's asking price of around £10 million.
"I would consider a move to Liverpool, they're likely to progress to the Champions League group stages, I would love to play in that competition but my first choice is Newcastle."
Think enough time has been wasted on him if any of this is true

Sorry but that sounds like absolute rubbish, I don’t believe that for one minute.

Kuyt told YOU? Who?
Anyways, back to topic, I guess the main reason he chose Newcastle ahead of Liverpool was due to first team starts. With us, he won't be able to start as many games as he would have wanted unless he plays exceptionally well.
Also, if he wants to achieve such a "hero" status, I'm afraid we'll have to look elsewhere. We have no room in our squad for such one-minded selfish attitude.

Miroslav Klose has shown improvements in the past World Cup as Klinsmann had put him through some "homework" to use his feet more and to develop his left feet (this story came up during the 2006 World Cup) and he scored 4 goals with his feet and only 1 with his head, compared to all goals with his head at the 2002 World Cup.

Seems to me that a common thread in Rafa's signings is the player must show a strong desire to put on the red shirt first and foremost. So either one) that story is a load of bull, two) we havent signed him yet because Rafa's still deciding whether his attitude is balanced by his skills and asking price or three) we're not intersetd in him at all - he's just a smokescreen.
Pesronally, I'd say one or three as I dont think Rafa would compromise on attitude tbh.

"I would consider a move to Liverpool - they're likely to progress to the Champions League group stages. I would love to play in that competition but my first choice is Newcastle.
