i can't believe so many people belive the world of football finance and transfers is so easy. the number of shouts along the lines of "we must have at least £25 million - lets go out and buy raul/gallas/joaquin/van bommel etc etc" are plain ridiculous.
firstly we made the clubs biggest ever debt last season thanks to the pay off to houllier after his disastrous spenidng spree, so we have to beging to cover that. secondly we still have plans to build a bigger stadium and that'll cost a few bob. thirdly, you don't just 'go and get' a player, they have to actually want to come and with a number of other people (agents, chairmen, managers) have to agree the terms. fourthly, why should we go and spend just for the sake of it? there's plenty of quality team players out there for fractions of the cost of the 'superstars', who better than benitez to bring them to their best at liverpool?

Get up! everybody's gonna move their feet
