With the transfer money - Who do we get?

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby LiverpoolUSA » Tue Jul 05, 2005 3:05 pm

Though the reason why absolutely guts me, Rafa and Parry will soon have anywhere between 32-40? million quid to spend on improving the squad. Obviously, we need a replacement for Gerrard, but after that, who should they go after?

Also, who do you see as the next big star from the academy?

Championship Manager wet dreams commence.

It'll be neither Ballack nor SWP, I can guarantee you all that.

I'll bet the replacement will come from either La Liga or South America, and will be relatively unknown.

Didn't Madrid offer £30 mill plus Samuel?

I'd take that, then raid Bayern for Ballack!

If he does go with Real there is the possibility of one or some players coming in with the deal and not of the standard of Nunez either. The bidding war is about to begin and we can expect to get around one or two excellent players + £40mil. The only question now is how much do Real and Chelsea want him.

I think Ballack is the best option especially as we can get him for half as he is in his last year.

We could easily get Pablo Aimar now for a nice price and maybe convince Valencia to take Baros as Carew has left and joined Lyon. Aimar knows Rafa and has reaped the rewards under him.

SWP could become a real potential target if Chelsea end up with SG.

Gabrielle Milito is almot certain to come now.

Liverpool can not only afford teh 10Mil asking price for D Kuyt but also the wages for Figo.

There is going to be a big problem. We are desperate for more players now because of Stevie and the others who have gone, so we are going to take taken to the cleaners by other clubs.

I think we still need a few more players, and then with the Steven deal we need to get some top players in exchange.
With Chelsea supposedly bidding 20m for SWP, they won't need Duff will they?
Real Madrid could let us take Owen back, which would soften the blow as he is a scouser. There are other players like Juanfran, Raul, Guti, Samuel we might be interested in there.

I would expect him to go to RM, if he has any heart left he won't help Chelsea against us in the prem, I believe Rafa will be more prepared to do business with Real after the Owen and Morientes deals, and also because he knows the Spanish players there well.

downside to this deal is that the whole town is gonna know we are awash with moolah and that we need replacement for stevie. names that have been bandied around like ballack, essien or swp ain't gonna be cheap once LFC comes a knocking.
