Jesus, for £8m we MUST be able to get better than Crouch??  :sniffle

Can't we?  Anyone???  Please tell me I'm right???  :help

I wouldn't mind signing Crouch so much for less than £5m...but not £8m.

I we do sign another striker, then one or two others will have to go.

We have

Morientes
Baros
Cisse
Pongo
Mellor

and others who can play up front like Garcia and Kewell.

I still say balls to Crouch, let's offer City £15m plus Baros for SWP and have done with it.

If we don't sign another striker it's not a disaster as Rafa only plays one most of the time.

why though isnt 3 enough plus mellor and pongolle as back up i really dont understand why we need another striker...

and kuyt? why ?

he'd just be another kezman believe me i know

i think that we need some quality backups like Dirk Kuyt.

we have five strikers

3 maybe 4 of which are better than kuyt

if crouch comes i think he has been bought for the hussle and bussle of the premiership, rafa has always talked about having 2 squads i dont think you would see him used in europe as much its all about squad power, remember last season we played some games with no strikers that wont happen again.

NOOOOOOOOOOOO........

CROUCH TO REDS
Southampton boss Harry Redknapp has admitted defeat in his bid to keep Peter Crouch. The Saints rejected a bid from West Ham for the lanky striker on Tuesday, but will be hard pressed to stop him from joining Liverpool, with the Reds set to offer £8m for the former Aston Villa front man.

This has to be a joke

I think Crouch could do a good job. He adds something different. He is a hard man to mark beacuse of his height, and his touch for a big lad is good.

£8m is a bit steep though. :O

I would be happy with Crouch but agree that it should be for about £4 million.
I think Redknapp is putting an 8-10 million price tag on him, so that Rafa goes as high as 6...thats a bit steep, but rafa seems to want him and we nearly always pay over the odds.

Checked it, it's in a gossip section, and it should rest there till something is confirmed.  :bump
