No doubt Gerrard has a heart for Liverpool, but his commitment level is sadly, swayed by other factors - chiefly medals and trophies. To be realistic Liverpool is still 2 to 3 years off Championship winning, we can't feed Gerrard's ambition, not for now. Btw, he's already 'blackmailed' us last season with veiled threats about Champion League and stage is set for him to do it again this year! :suspect:

Don''t get me wrong, I'd love him to stay, but he has to sort out his own demons inside. If he starts his CL issue again, he can go, and thanks for the 30mil.

Its a tough call this one ......

The way some people speak on here you would think they know the man personally ???

IF and its a big IF Stevie wants to go then so be it but i think it better for Liverpool to accept a slightly lower fee from a  foreign club (Madrid , Barca, Milan etc.... ) than sell him to a team who you would like to think we wil be competing with for domsetic honours next season ???

There's only one Club that can afford him and thats Chelski, Real  Madrid might some how scrape up the Money, they normally do.

You don't sell your best players to the opposition so in football terms 25M off Madrid is better than 35M off Chelsea. I know i'm going to get criticism for this and no doubt remionded that Madrid compete with us in the CL ......My response to taht comment is When did we compete with Madrid in the CL exactly ? I'd say 1981 and if you believe different your living in cloud cuckoo land

very true Ian, I would absolutley hate to see him in a blue and white ****** jersey. Sell him to Barca or Real IMO, even if it is a slighly lower fee.

Thanks Scott.

Sell to Chelsea and we can kiss goodbye to a competitive Premier league for some years to come ???

Judge SG when he's back playin where he plays best, in front of Xabi Alonso. Til then, jus bear in mind when u go to work tomorrow and someone offers u a 'better' job, would u think twice before leavin ur workmates? I know, dont slag me, footballs difrent to workin in a factory, but it all boils down to the fact we work for one reason - ourselves. SG will do whats best for him, whats best for Liverpool may not come into it, but til then we gotta show we wanna keep him here, simple as that. Tellin the guy to ****** off aint exactly endearin is it?
Stu Averill, a wannabe Scouse/Scot. I remember the good times & have faith in them comin back

Beside the Hillsborough Flame, I heard a Koppite mournin, "Why so many taken on that day?" Justice has never been done. But their memory we'll carry on. There'll be Glory Round The Fields Of Anfield Road

Again.. If he wants to leave and some people are asking for gud money.... take it... simple as that..built our new team.. sometimes success come with just ordinary people... Everton has shown it this season... although they may not sustain the 4th position after losing Gravessen..

I think that if he's gonna go, he's gonna make sure that someone pays through the nose. He loves liverpool and is truly world class and we should still thank him for this season and not joining the KGB. But I agree that he is not bigger than the club and it will hurt us if we let it get to that stage.

Losing Gerrard would not be that bad. After all, we are about 5 players short of having a squad that can challenge for the
Premiership. We are certainly desperate for decent defenders.
