I know the players vote for the overall player of the year. Is it the same for the team of the year? If so i guess you can't really argue with any of the selections because the players are a lot closer to the action than any of us.

Bet moanrinhos got summing to say bout this

Mourinho can have nothing to say about this. The award is voted by the players. He has been recognised amongst his peers that he is the best player in the premiership this year.

Mourinho is still bitter that he never could get Gerrard. The guy is the epitome of Sour Grapes

Congratulations to Stevie.  For me, this is better than the Writer's award or Premier League recognition.  This is voted on by fellow professionals - who is better positioned to know who deserves recognition?  This being the case I think personality comes into it.  If I was a Premier League player I might not vote for someone I couldn't stand on a personal level, but Stevie has still got some humility and seems to treat other players with respect.  He's more like Henry in his attitude than, say, John Terry.   Stevie's always looking to play his talents down.  I can see why his fellow pro.s voted for him.

BTW would he have won if he'd gone to Chelski?  I very much doubt it.

congrad's to Stevie G, legend already. long may it continue.  hard luck to jamie tho he's a class act and nobody deserves to play like that and not be in the running, i think that he'll agree that stevie is a cut above the rest. :D

Top player who thoroughly deserves it. Is twice the player Lampard is IMO, let's hope he produces in the World Cup aswell.

Anyone see Henry congratulate Gerrard for getting the pfa player of the year and saying how he should have got it before this year. He also said he was an inspiration because of what he did for us in the CL last year.
REST IN PEACE PHIL!
