Mingolet - 7 decent game again.
Can - 6 think he's p!$$ed off playing in defense. I gave him an extra point because I thought he did well in diffusing the situation after balo scored.
Skrtel - 7 good game from martin but he did get caught twice for pace with a through ball to ba.
sakho - 7 still think he looks ropey as fook but it works for him. good game.
allen - 6 Did alright without actually doing anything.
hendo - 6 chief pen and free taker    Not for me and not as capt either.
Moreno - 6 good game but needs to have more of an impact in the final 3rd.
coutinho - 5 not great by his standards of late.
lallana - 5 most expensive sub i think we have ever had.
Sturridge - 5 poor game from him and shouldn't have got involved in the pen. A bit greedy at times also.
Ibe - 8 was up for it and looked composed but poor when he needed not to be.

Lovren - 5 didn't cost us anyway.
balotelli - 7 thought he was great when he came on, worked hard showed good control and passed well. Was right to insist he take the penalty.
Sterling - 5 not enough time really

Overall I thought it was a poor enough game with not a lot between us other than a reckless challenge. I thought they seemed to be comfortable enough with us for the most of it and will be confident that they can overturn it at home.
The biggest plus for us that we kept a clean sheet and denied them an away goal which will put us firmly in the driving seat should we score over there.

Was far from impressed Reg. Thought overall the performance was very disjointed, there was some good stuff mixed with a lot of poor stuff, especially in and around their box.

Mignolet - 8 - We have him to thank for taking a one goal lead to the Ataturk
Can - 5 - Exposed ,no real protection
Skrtel - 6 Some needless challenges ,but got better

Ibe 7 - A real threat going forward ,but his naivety left Can open a bit too much to be comfortable .
Coutinho - 5 - Marshalled well ,and virtually shackled by some at times over zealous man marking. 
Lallana - 6 - Luxury player at the moment .
Sturridge - 5 - Just needed to think more ,and marked down for his unwanted and ill-advised histrionics

Balotelli - 7 We competed more when he was introduced ,and an extra point for having the stones to take the pen while most dithered.

Mignolet - 8 - excellent, only one dodgy moment
Can - 9 - flawless
Lovren - 5 - was ok
Skrtel - 9 - immense
Henderson - 6 - did his job
Allen - 7 - not great but better than hendo today
Ibe - 8 - massive future ahead
Markovic - 3 - dire today
Coutinho - 7 - scored an immense goal
Lallana - 4 - his head was not in it
Sterling - 6 - took his goal well

Substitutes:
Johnson - 3 - useless
Moreno - 7 - great when he came on should have started
Sturridge - 6 - not great

Mignolet - 8 -I thought he was exceptional ,even to the point of practically sacrificing himself to prevent a certain goal. 
Can - 7 Switching Can was a ridiculous decision from Rodgers ,I guess his versatility is a curse ,but he looked lost for the opening ten minutes. 
Lovren - 6 - Arguably his best game for the reds in a competitive sense.   
Skrtel - 9 -He was an absolute monster for us out there
Henderson - 6 - Some loose balls and stray passing ,but he held the midfield well
Allen - 8 -Best game for some considerable time ,admirable the way he picked himself up and grew into the game after a near horrendous start.
Ibe - 6 - Better defensively, but the extra responsibility  hampered his usual attacking game 
Markovic - 5 - He provided the pass for Coutinho's goal ,but wasn't at his best defensively. 
Coutinho - 7 -Beautifully crafted goal ,hit with the precision of a free kick ,but marked well enough to quell any threat after that .
Lallana - 4 - Let the gravitas of the occasion and the fans derogatory chants get to him.
Sterling - 5 - Fortuitous goal with the ball pinging about a Saints defence in complete disarray ,but other than that well off the pace. 

Johnson - 2 - Waste of a substitution ,his only tackle was when he fell awkwardly on his arm.
Moreno - 7 - Starting to look the part ,showed great pace to stop Clyne in his tracks 
Sturridge - 7 - We looked a far better team when he took to the field ,more potent in attack.

Mignolet - 8
Lovren - 6 - didn't think he was horrible but it seems his confidence is a bit low at the moment
Skrtel - 9 - MOM for sure, did well for himself and fixed the mistakes of others, great game
Can - 7 - I think I'm even being a bit generous, I agree with RBG, he did look a bit lost at times, but did well overall
Allen - 7 - good game this lad, helped a lot defensively
Henderson - 7 - I thought he did good as well
Ibe - 7 - wasn't the best going forward but that might have been down to the conditions. Was great defensively though
Markovic - 6 - wasn't TOO bad IMO, but was rightfully subbed
Coutinho - 7 - cracking goal
Lallana - 5 - yeah, the fans might have got to him
Sterling - 7 - Didn't have a good game (was played out of position again though), but scored a goal and in these games that's what matters most

Johnson - 6 - I actually thought he did alright. Stop their advances once or twice and didn't have any bad moments.

Mignolet - 8 - Really impressed with him lately
Lovren - 7 - Thought he played well seeing as his first start for a while was against his old club.
Skrtel - 9 - MOM, solid yesterday
Can - 7 - Dodgy first 10 but that was probably down to the new position and almost getting caught out in the first min
Allen - 7 - Rash tackle that should have been a pen but worked really hard
Henderson - 6 - I know the conditions were bad but I thought his passing was awful
Ibe - 7 - bright start and defended well but faded and rightly subbed
Markovic - 6 - I agree with Damjan, wasn't too bad considering he's not a FB and not a left sided player but rightly subbed
Coutinho - 8 - Wish he would shoot like that more often, put a good shift in defending as well
Lallana - 5 - Poor game
Sterling - 6 - Extra point for the goal but other than that was poor.

Moreno - 7 - Should have been on from the start, played well.
Sturridge - 7 - We looked far better when he came on.
Johnson - 6 - Played well when he came on and it was the right sub at the right time

MINGOLET - 8 another fine display, he has shown a lot of character to turn his career here around
LOVREN - 6 did okay considering he hasn't featured for a while, must admit though I was convinced he was going to get sent off
SKRTEL - 8 IMO the pick of the defenders on the day
CAN - 7 decent performance
HENDERSON - 7 worked his @rse off
ALLEN - 7 like Hendo put a real shift in, thank God Gerrard wasn't playing because we would have been overrun.
MARKOVIC - 5 quiet game offensively and struggled to cope with Clyne defensively
IBE - 8 faded a bit late on but another terrific performance
LALLANA - 5 struggled to get into the game
COUTINHO - 7 not really his conditions (he was dithering with the cold at one point) but still scored a goal of the season contender
STERLING - 7 struggled a bit with the conditions and the physical approach of Southamptons defenders but never the less scored a vital goal

MINGOLET - 7 had a good game, could do nothing with the goal or the pens
TOURE - 7 played well
SKRTEL - 7 ditto
LOVREN - 7 another who did well, showed a lot of bottle to take one of the pens too
ALLEN - 6 started really well but faded
CAN - 6 ran himself into the ground
IBE - 5 surprisingly quiet, had a lot of defending to do though
MORENO - 8 had a really good game IMO
STERLING - 5 struggled to hold onto the ball and sloppy with his passing
BALOTELLI - 6 IMO the pick of our front men, put one great chance in particular on a plate for Sturridge who blew it
STURRIDGE - 5 should have scored, like Sterling turned over possession way too cheaply

LOVREN - 6 Head scratcher ,did we really pay 20m for a player which makes Martin look like a rocket scientist? He didn't miss the penalty he missed Istanbul
ALLEN - 7 Another good game ,For all you Lucas fans the lad is better.
CAN - 6 Fought but not much to show for
IBE - 5 None factor unfortunately ,not sure if it was jitters or good marking but didn't show up today ,shame
MORENO - 8 Probably our best player today ,very active and mobile
STERLING - 4 ,Poor game no idea what he did today
BALOTELLI - 4 ,Great performance "selling" fouls to the ref ,poor game nevertheless ,working alone most of the time
STURRIDGE - 3 , Pathetic egoistic display ,he probably cost us the game ,rotten approach ,wasteful ,slow minded ,really pi$$ed me off today.

Yeh resting Coutinho was another brilliant idea by the Scarf man.

Mingolet - 7. Five good pens in fairness but tends to go a little quick. Still good game.
Skrtel - 7. Again handled ba well.
Toure - 7. Good game.
Lovren - 6. Didn't think he was great at all but fair play for having the nuts to step up. Mentally it might do a job on him though.
Allen - 6. Tidy at times but easily put off the ball
Can - 6. Wasn't great but never gave up. Hopefully we see him again in midfield.
Ibe - 5. Massive step up from where he was 2 and a 1/2 months ago.
Moreno - 6. Good first half but faded second.
Sterling - 4. Wet paper bag would have put up more of a fight.
Balotelli - 5. Poor but just not as much as his partner's on the night.
Sturridge - 4. Should have been hauled off after 60 mins. Chose to play for Sturridge far too often.

Big Fat Zero for our European efforts this year I'm afraid. Really poor showing in both competitions.
