Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

If Reina and Suarez leave along with Carra retiring, and Maxi / Kuyt / Cole leaving last year, id be interested to see what our wage bill is like in comparison to other English clubs.

Our wage bill must be greatly reduced at this point.

I think that would leave - Gerrard , Johnson , Agger and Downing as the big earners with prob only Gerrard on over 100 grand a week

I don't know what have you guys been watching but Mignolet was one of the best keepers in the league last season while Pepe was just average and very mistake prone and he has been for a few seasons now. When both at their best, Pepe is probably the better goalie, but Mignolet is currently in an outstanding form and I expect that he'll continue.

Pepe is better IMO mate - Mignolet was in the headlines a bit more last season because he was so fecking busy - I think Pepe had a good season last year and was returning to his best

reina started off last season a bit iffy but after a couple of months he was back to something like his best. near the end of the season he made a couple of absolute unbelievable saves.

Mignolet was one of the best last season so he is a great buy, as for Reina he has had two bad years for us, his mins was just not on the game .
The kop will miss Carragher saying "  PEP EYE BALL"  lol

It'll be a damn shame to see Pepe go.

Tony Barrett - The Times - Twitter

Napoli have made a move for Pepe Reina.

Looks like Rafa is raiding. Methinks Mignolet is going to be our no.1 this season.

I really don't want to see Pepe leave.

Reina hasn't been great for a couple of years so, as much as it pains me to say, I think his time here is done. Mignolet is an able replacement.

Couldn't disagree more. There is a reason he was linked with Barcelona - he is one of the best keepers in the world.

Sure Reina's form dipped the season before last (note 'season' - singular). Last season we started to see the Reina who returned to form. He'll go on and perform and the highest level for many seasons no matter where he plays. Keepers mature with age and he is no exception.

If he goes, we will rue it I am sure.

Gutted if we loose both Pepe and Suarez this summer. Pepe brings so much more than just good goal keeping.; (

As the saying goes "form is temporary, class is permanent"

Hopefully Mignolet isn't a "one season wonder"

Would be gutted to lose Pepe.
