saying that i`m getting a bit p1$$ed off at this club seemingly turning into a doormat, we all know the moment barca would have made a bid reina would have packed his bags and been down to john lennon airport in a shot, i like the look of begovic, he`s a massive presence between the sticks (he must be 6`6 at least) and the fact that he came for 86 crosses last season and didnt drop a single one of them has got to interest a club like us who struggles to defend set pieces and corners. for such a big man he`s very athletic too, he cant half fly through the air when he has to tip a shot round the post.
is reina going to be in holiday mode next season if he knows he`s away once valdez`s contract runs out?
Good assessment and an excellent question. Reina's form has been down the last couple of seasons and imo it's largely psychological rather than him losing his touch. If he stays, I certainly hope his form improves drastically next season because if not, we might find ourselves in a situation where our starting goalkeeper is worth half of what he is today, and our current goalkeeping target is off to a different club.
We should offer both Reina and Bacelona the chance to either sign him this window or have him extend his contract and commit to the club long term.
