tomorrow`s guardian reckons that sources within LFC are saying the club is bracing itself for a an offer for reina from barcelona. apparently valdez has announced he is joining monaco.
not as big a blow as losing luis but still, we could do without it atm.
we wont have any players left at this rate.

yeah, one thing about begovic is that he is good at coming out for crosses, apparently he came out for 86 crosses last season and didnt drop one.
that will help sort our ariel weakness at the back.

We need to get this right. If Reina wants to leave, then we should make sure a deal for Begovic is in place before we sell him. We also need to make sure that we -at least- get from Barcelona the fee needed to sign Begovic. Anything else and it would be a failure in the transfer market.

I agree with this. We're not the ones willing to sell, and Reina is a top keeper who's got 3 more years on his contract. We should play hardball and milk as much money as we can from them (at least to cover the price for the new keeper).

Think I'm disappointed in principle if this happens.

I don't think it's right that we should hang around for a new keeper because our current one possibly can't get the move he wants, he's been flirting with Barca for a while now which has peeved me off a bit and I think we should snap this Begovic up if the opportunity is there this summer before he's nabbed by another top club.

it`s a tricky one this, as john says with carragher hanging his boots up and luis (probably) going we are already losing some strong characters from within the group so we could do without losing someone who has been at the club 8 years (and by all accounts is a vocal presence in the dressing room).
saying that i`m getting a bit p1$$ed off at this club seemingly turning into a doormat, we all know the moment barca would have made a bid reina would have packed his bags and been down to john lennon airport in a shot, i like the look of begovic, he`s a massive presence between the sticks (he must be 6`6 at least) and the fact that he came for 86 crosses last season and didnt drop a single one of them has got to interest a club like us who struggles to defend set pieces and corners. for such a big man he`s very athletic too, he cant half fly through the air when he has to tip a shot round the post.
is reina going to be in holiday mode next season if he knows he`s away once valdez`s contract runs out?

Yeah, if he must leave then the sooner the better. We'll need to deal with this anyway, so why not deal with it now when there's a great goalkeeper available as a replacement.

Whatever is best for Liverpool should happen whether that is selling Reina or not. We can not afford another season without CL football
