Some of the comments about BR - particularly in the match thread, are nothing short of a disgrace. The guy has a vision, a plan and limited resources to put it together. He's had one transfer window FFS and imo it's already clear what he's trying to do and I'm optimistic as to what the future holds with him at the helm. I dunno what some were expecting but Rome wasn't built in a day and EXPECTING top 4 is too soon. I really like BR and hope he's here for the long run. Walk on

6th straight unbeaten in the League.  That is a good sign and with the fixture list ahead there's no reason why some of those can't be victories.  I think the only (major) wrong move br has made was the Carroll debacle.  Borrini getting hurt has put a spotlight on it as well.  The league position isn't great but we're moving in the right direction.

in december there are 6 fixtures which are all very much winnable. we've played all the top team already bar spurs.

in contrast the likes of everton are flying but still have to play city, chelsea, spurs and arsenal.

Whilst I don't think we will get into the top four, if we continue in the same vain of form and those little decisions start going our way, then we won't be too far off from the top four. However we need to start getting results against the likes of West Brom, Stoke and Everton if we want to really push on.

Every single Liverpool fan wants us to be qualifying for the CL every single year and we all want to win the League every single, but we have to be realistic here. Those supporters who are expecting a top four finish will be very disappointed this season because we aren't good enough to get back into contention (at the moment). There's also a good chance that Arsenal, Newcastle and Spurs will also miss on the top four, unless one of those teams can find steady consistency.

thats pretty much how i see it also.
his dealings during the last window where amateurish to say the least but he deserves the chance and a few pound to put it right. fenway need to back him in january with a reasonable budget and none of this bu!!sh1t that was allowed to carry on during the last window.
he needs to put his foot down and either they pay up or he recalls andy carroll because if suarez gets injured were done for and he will cop the flak for it.

Think Rodgers is fantastic. I think he'll do really well IF he gets backing in the transfer market. I love the way we are playing at the moment.

My only criticism of him is Andy Carrol. We will perhaps never know what kind of promises were made to BR about him getting another player if he loaned AC. BUT I think AC could have helped us a lot this year in tricky away fixtures or against teams like Stoke, Everton, and West Ham (or today against Chelsea). Or games where its raining and a little more difficult to pass the ball about. Surely, having him for those games and for cover for Suarez is worth the 7m/year we are saving by loaning him to WHU. Its mind boggling.

I don't get why people are banging on about league position now anyway. Ok we all want to be doing better but as others have said we are 6 unbeaten and have some winnable games coming up.

Big clubs count trophies at the end of the season. NOT league places in November.

Agree St Mike.  The league position doesn't concern me at the moment, this season was always going to be about rebuilding.  Rodgers got some big earners off the wage bill in the summer and brought in some younger, hungrier players.  He's also brought through some good youngsters from the youth team and given them chances.  The style of play is evolving and in the last couple of games Rodgers has shown good tactical awareness and flexibility in his formations.

We'll be a force under him I'm sure of it, but it won't be this season.  If he is backed in the transfer window in January and again in the summer then we can challenge for 4th next season I reckon.

There are weaknesses though.  Clearly we need more firepower but I'm concerned about the amount of goals we leak too.  I still feel we could do with a really top centre half.  Agger is good (if injury prone) and Skrtel can be good but is inconsistent.  Neither are top class.  Carra showed us what we have been missing today with a world class performance at the back, but he's too old to do that consistently now.

on conceding goals, we've not really had a settled back four this season, especially at fullback. enrique's form dipped. johnson is right back then left back. kelly is right back then gets injured for the rest of the season. wisdom has been there for a few games. touchwood agger and skrtel stay fit (agger has pulled out of the midweek international with injury).

you can get away with to an extent if you're scoring plenty at the other end but we aren't. united have conceded 2 against fulham, southampton, stoke, chelsea and villa this season but have still won every one of those games due to having stikers who score goals at the other end. our defence is not helped at all by the style of football we play which leaves us extremely vulnerable to counter attacks and also the absence of lucas. we still haven't got a natural replacement for him.

Our league position now is very un-Liverpool. A club like Liverpool should always be challenging to win the league. Despite our poor league standing, BR hasn't been given the chance to show his true worth yet, reason being (I'm sure you all have heard it a million times, we're still in process of rebuilding, BR hasn't been given the chance to buy the players he wants etc). And I am sure appointing BR in the summer wasn't a bad appointment.

But, is it only me or what? Has anyone looked at how well S.Clarke and his WB are flying in the league now. They won again on Saturday and are now equal on points with Everton who are 4th. Was it a big mistake not to promote Steve to manager after KD was sacked? Do you all think he could have repeated his WB performance at Liverpool had he been promoted? I mean look, his WB players (with due respect to them) are not as good as our players, like us, their team under a new manager in Steve are also learning to adapt to his tactics and look at how well they're doing? This season I've started to check his WB results together in addition to our bitter rivals and it pains me to see how well they're doing. Could this be another blunder by the club?

i noticed some fans here are very result driven. as rogers mentioned it is not easy playing against 3 "no. 10s", 3 playmakers in hazard, mata and oscar. not forgetting ramires who can score goals too. outplaying them at the bridge with a relatively young squad is an acheivement. suso and sterling had a great game. althou there is a concern of burning out sterling.
who rogers signs in jan will make a difference to this season.
