Rafa signs contract

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

:) what we expected, so really not news. but its quite a relief to hear regardless...

Rafael Benitez has put pen to paper on a new four year contract.

It was anounced that Rafael Benitez would be signing a new contract with Liverpool before the Reds played Fulham at Anfield back in March and last night the Liverpool boss officially signed the new four year contract.

Benitez's new contract will end speculation linking the Spaniard with Real Madrid

To be honest, him signing a new four year contract didnt really surprise me.

Who would want to go coach Real Madrid anyways?

Its a club rife with internal struggles and large egos.

The club is crumbling and the current team is nothing but a shadow of the overwhelming Real Madrid teams of the past. Its only a matter of time before they implode.

In fact they came so close to relegation 3 or 4 yeas ago i was so wishing it would happen.

Good news nevertheless.

Spanish clubs should take good note of what are doing top english clubs. I'm talking about giving confidence to a manager so that he can develop a project in some years, instead of sacking a coach every year.

I'm sure Rafa will make LFC even better every year, good news.

Knowing Real Madrid they probably would've sacked Rafa after a year anyway so why bother?

Who came close to relegation ?

Real Madrid did. I think it was the year before Del Bosque took over. They were hovering around the relegation zone for a while but not sure where they finished that year.

Sabre should know.
