the owners should bring in top strikers or dont bother at all.

Mate, with our situation right now I don't think it's our target to go another level, I would take Ba if he improves our goal scoring chances, which he will. If you told me we were fighting for top spot then I would agree with you, but right now we need to steady the ship and go for a top 4 spot

I would take either Ba or Odeiwingie - both would massively increase our goal scoring threat

Yes we can.

We couldn't afford an extra 2 mil to get Dempsey for £6-7mil let alone the £15-20 mil required for Huntelaar FFs ?! Did you sleep through the transfer window

They didnt think he was worth the 6 million pound Fulham wanted.

If a player is worth it they will pay

We have spent all summer cutting wages and turning players down bevause of money - we do not have the money to spend on players like Huntelaar - the evidence is there for all to see.

they were prepared to spend £15m on sturridge but rodgers wasnt convinced about a permenent deal, the money is there but the deal has got to be right.
as i said i`d rather just have carroll back than waste money on stop gap center forwards like ba and odenweinge. as a club we should be setting our sights higher than those 2.

What if Ba suddenly becomes goal shy, like Carroll and loses form in a red shirt.

Are u we just going to raid all of Newcastle utds strikers.

We need to dig deep in our pockets + bid higher for better quality.

The Echo is still a newspaper. Why hasn't BR mentioned it ? Don't believe it for one single second and it being in the Echo doesn't make it true.

I was never keen on seeing the back of Kenny and less keen to see Brendan Rodgers come in. The manner in which Kenny was fired felt, to me, like we'd sold a lil piece of our soul. And now, though Kenny, a Liverpool legend, was given only a year and a half, people are asking us to put our faith and patience into this stranger, Brendan Rodgers. Why would we do that? The answer is simple: We have no choice. Five games in and we are three from bottom. That means currently we are the 17th best team in England, technically. We've taken two..just TWO points from those games and claiming that we've had a tough start to the season. True, we HAVE had a tough start to the season, and ya know what? We failed to overcome it. The usual suspects didn't. And now, five games in, we can pretty much already kiss fourth place goodbye. That means more Europa league next season. That means it will again be extremely tough for us to sign the best players, and with a little known manager such as Rodgers, we can't even rely on players joining us because of the managers world status. There are positives, our younger players coming through, the way we are playing and passing, but the fact remains that we still have no league win this season and now we're breathing a sigh of relief because we have the likes of Reading and other "lesser" teams to play now? Wow. A pretty poor stance for any Liverpool fan to take.

Those who claim they're being optimists, think again...optimism is to believe we're the better team, whilst pessimism is to say "Yay, Reading, we might win this one!"

That's five games, Brendan, with no success. Time to show us what'cha got.

I wont get drawn into this but look at our fixture list. We got off to a stinker of a start. Even with a full strength, all firing squad, we would have struggled with the likes of united, city and arsenal. In fact, any team would have.

Now is not the time to panic.

I'm not panicing. In fact, after the United game I started to see where we're going. But Rodgers seems very inexperienced. His team talks may get us moving the ball around, but they don't win us games thus far, and his transfer business so far looks suspect (I know, it was the owners that pushed him around...or perhaps Rodgers wasn't smart enough? Didn't see any other manages having a problem with their owners). His tactics, whilst pretty, are one tone and there's no apparent Plan B, and so far have reaped no rewards.

Like last year, top four is this years target. I doubt very much that the owners and board would say "Take a season to get your feet under the table". If this season falls short of last year, or isn't much improvement in terms of competitive progress, I think we will be looking at the back of yet another manager.

Be romantic if you like but the owners have showed no sign yet that they will give managers such time. This isn't a mock season after all, and FSG want results.

I think the only dodgy deal he has done so far is of course regarding Andy Carroll. I agree with others that this was a poor decision, and I fully blame the manager. It was his job to ensure he has options, and he dropped the ball on that one. Other than that though, its too early to comment on his signings, although Joe Allen looks awesome so far, Borini, not so.
