If we can get him for around £8m, then why not?

Isn't he currently rejecting a £75,000 a week contract as well? The fella isn't worth £75,000+ in wages, and I doubt FSG will offer him that sort of money.

Is walcott a "proven striker"?  Really?
Have I been watching the same player?

Henry played on the wing for juventus and was lost before arsenal came in for him. Now before you blast me im not saying walcott is in henrys league. all im saying is he worth a gamble in january and he does have speed so could play on wing or upfront.

Walcott is not the answer, I'd rather we go for Demba Ba as a stop gap and longer term second striker and then go all out and get a top top striker in the summer, I would also consider selling Suarez becuase if he is going to get unfairly treated by the refs all the time then there is no point playing him, not that this is his fault.

suarez is our best player, do you honestly think the best way forward for this club is to sell our best player?
and ba is not liverpool standard imo, i`d rather just get carroll back and give yesil and ngoo a chance.
i know what your saying about signing a stop gap but if we are not going to sign a top striker then i`d rather we didnt bother at all, it`s not worth reducing the squad right down to the bare bones only to fill it up with mid table plodders again. i`d rather we sign promising young players or top quality players, no more journeyman types, we`ve had enough of them.

How many extra points did we get for outplaying Man Utd ?!

None. And we only got 1 point for out playing City.

We all know we are going to struggle to score and win games this season. We know the transfer window was a mess, and that Rodgers played his part in that. And yes, we see the leaky defence too.

It just so happens that some of us actually can see what Rodgers is achieving, and what that potentially means for the future. We are not blind to the failings and threats, but neither are we blind to the successes and opportunities ahead.

i thought the defending was much better on sunday, yes i know we still conceded our usual 2 goals per game but the circumstances were very different.
no back 4 is perfect, every team lets goals in but the art is to make the opposition produce something special to score. if the opposition string a great move together or someone volleys it into the top corner from 30 yards then that is fair enough, but if you only concede great goals you wont concede many goals in a season.
the one`s that kill teams are the cheap goals, the ones like when skrtel was dawdling on the ball against west brom and shane long won the penalty or the goal against city when kelly miscontrolled the ball and it fell to yaya toure or the run of the mill shot that reina spilled against hearts or skrtels backpass against city. they are the goals we have to stop concededing not the ones we conceded against united.
uniteds first was a great goal, the lad curled it in off the post from a tight angle with his wrong foot, if he had 10 attempts at doing that again he`d be lucky if he managed to curl it around the defender and get it on target once never mind go in off the post, he just produced the goods when it mattered so fair dues to him.
their second was a dodgy pen, johnson is saying in tonights echo that he never touched valencia and gerrard said if the situation was reversed and it was liverpool attacking and suarez went down in the manner valencia did there would be no way a pen would be awarded.
if the ref gives a pen like that there`s not much you can do.
as i said although we conceded 2 goals on saturday i thought the defence played well, van persie hardly got a kick.

He's a striker through and through and has done a good job playing out of position for Arsenal over the last six years. In the last two seasons Walcott has managed to get into double figures for Arsenal and has really grown as a player. If the opportunity arose to sign him as a striker, I'd take it. Someone else mentioned that Henry was a winger for Juventus before Arsenal swooped in and look at the player Henry became at Arsenal. One of the best players I've ever watched in the League.

Am I the only one who thinks Rodgers should simply shut up with the soundbytes? He seems to have a quote for everything. Talks about his philosophy nonstop. (Considering he's 39 I think that's a bit arrogant anyway...)
Even on the Hillsborough report....and I am not being disrespectful in any way, but he can hardly speak about the emotions of the families and the justice done, when he wasn't a fan at the time nor affiliated to the club. Again I think it was not his place to speak so openly or at length about it.

I would really prefer if he said less and let us/others judge him on what he is there for - results speak louder Brendan...

Yes, I agree with this. He seems to have the need to show everyone what he know's about the game. He needs to keep his head down and bum up.

The post was ok until you mentioned Hillsborough.

He is the manager of the club and the families have already expressed their gratitude for his support and words. BR didn't have to be associated with the club for him to speak about it
