Is walcott a "proven striker"?  Really?
Have I been watching the same player?

He's a striker through and through and has done a good job playing out of position for Arsenal over the last six years. In the last two seasons Walcott has managed to get into double figures for Arsenal and has really grown as a player. If the opportunity arose to sign him as a striker, I'd take it. Someone else mentioned that Henry was a winger for Juventus before Arsenal swooped in and look at the player Henry became at Arsenal. One of the best players I've ever watched in the League.

The only thing Walcott has proven is that he cost Arsenal a small fortune, and has done relatively f*ck all.

He is described as an impact sub. We dont need that, we need a prolific striker !

How many extra points did we get for outplaying Man Utd ?!

So you don't think Rodgers is doing a good job? because that was my point...

On the field - no .

Overall satisfactory

How can you be so unappreciative of what the manager is doing? Are you a real Liverpool fan?   :rasp

Neither was Henry when he arrived at Arsenal.

Well the problem is Walcott didn't turn into a better player at Arsenal a club where usually players with potential can really develop...
I'd have him as a winger but never as an out and out striker... and we need an out and out striker..

Walcott hasn't played as a striker at Arsenal, nor has he convinvced me he could lead the line. To suggest Walcott could follow in the same footsteps as Henry is crazy - I'm not saying Walcott couldn't make it as a striker, he might, but he'll never reach anywhere near the heights of Henry. As far as buying him as a striker is concerned, its stupid, Wenger won't put him there, surely there's a reason.

Sorry like but Henry and Walcott shouldn't be mentioned in the same breath

I think Walcott would be very good in the middle for us. He got into double figures last season playing in the shadow of Van Persie and I believe he could easily get into double figures here. Obviously the fella isn't my first choice signing, I'd really like us to try and sign Lewis Holtby, an Anglo-German who plays for Schalke and whom supports Everton. Still offer him a big enough contract and his loyalty towards Everton would go out the window.

Not trying to get excited over 1 game but we are starting to play well... and were unlucky against City and Utd. Don't know how people can be so negetive.

I agree Walcott is a luxury, but if we brought him in with another proven striker then i wouldn't complain. Probably won't happen, mind.

Have to agree......I was a tad worried that he was lacking some fire in the belly after sunday....which followed the self indulgent display on channel 5

I don't think Rodgers suffers fools mate ,I just believe he is extremely diplomatic when it comes to the baying media ,although I do think it should be the
owners sitting down conversing with the FA before their obvious agenda against us descends into total farce .
