some times i dont understand the euphoria of some fans here. what's has rogers done in the past 3 league games and over the past few seasons that justified your high hopes for him? in fact we've sacked managers with better record than him.
keep your expectation in check and you will be so disappointed in the future. ok rant over.

He took a newly promoted Swansea with very limited funds to literally points from us last year when we had spent over a 100m in the passed year.

He is a very young manager who has his "way" of doing things. He says the right things and we look decent.

Just because the goals havent flooded in doesnt make us a bad team.

Bear in mind as well these are fan media, and this is a great initiative to try and get the accurate reporting our fans deserve after years of suffering agenda driven b#llocks at the hands of Maddock, Bascombe etc.

There is something about Rodgers that I really like and I think he is going to be a fantastic manager for us eventually.
He needs a lot of time though.

If we do sack him for not bringing instant success I can see half our senior players getting sick of the club and leaving.

so your judging him on the last 3 league games? thats it?  well thats big of you.

I don't understand the 'fans' that can't see the bigger picture. Fans that demand that £30 million signing and anything less is sh!te and we're skint! Fans that don't think of the consequences of spending huge amounts of money because they want that big name at the club.

Then there's the fans that don't agree with the managerial appointment. "Brendan Rodgers? whats he ever done? he's rubbish, he'll be sacked by xmas"

Then those beauts that can't get there head around FSG. "Well they must be skint, they have not spunked £150 million on players this summer blah blah blah...  they haven't got a clue about football blah blah blah...  they must be winding the club up to sell it blah blah blah..."

These fans can all be grouped into one catagory...      SELFISH CLUELESS WHOPPERS

and fuk me this place has it's fair share of them.

Hmm,

I think its a bit unfair to call someone a whopper who has asked what has B rod done to prove hes the new Shankly  or shankly esc (if i hear that one more time i will throw something at the pc)

His record is ok at best last season was a very good one given. However the owl got a fulham side to the uefa cup final!

However hes the man in charge right now and he wants to turn the club upside down. At the very least he should be given time by the media and fans to get things where he wants them. Then if it goes wrong there will be no one else to blame.

When you think about that its a brave move.

What like Man City and their "big name" signings!?
Where did it get them, those big names like Tevez, Aguero, Yaya Toure,Balotelli, Dzeko, Gareth Barry, etc etc what were the consequences of signing that lot??

They only won the league title, and probably go close again. :rasp

Hustler, I think your missing the point...

Man City can afford to go out and buy anyone they want... we, like most other teams can't.

Since H & G we have been trying to get the club on an even keel, dont forget we where days from going into administration! We havent got the money to go out and buy all the best players.

There is a plan in place for Liverpool to rebuild and it may take many small steps, but our accounts already look better.  Big deals from the kit, the new sponser and then getting the wage bill down means that we are now starting to look like we will be generating enough money to be able to buy better players.

Apart from the fact we didnt buy a striker (which I know is a massive downer), I think this transfer windo w has been really good.  Joe Allen looks like he could be a really really good player.  Borini had a goal to game record in Italy last year of 1 goal every 2 games and hopefully will come good soon and the dude from Real Madrid, Nuri Sahin is supposed to be a really good player, who needs a bit of time to ge up to speed.

On top of them weve got Lucas back (soon), Gerrard who has missed a lot of games from the last 2 years looking like he is over his injuries and the same defence that did so well last year.

Brendan Rogers needs a bit of time, things arent quite right now with many of the issues from last year seemingly still here this season, but we have only played 3 league games and 2 of them against opposition who you would expect to be in the top 3 come the end of the season.

He is saying the right things, he has been brave in the decisions he has made, we just need a bit of patience and a bot of good luck would help.  I think things are going in the right direction and I am giving BR and the team my full support.  I dont think he is the new Shankley, I think he is Brendan Rogers, and I am quite prepared to give him a couple of years to get us back on the right path.
Our job is simple, to support the club, not just parts of the club that are easy to support, but every one who plays a part, that includes ALL players.  We are stronger when we are all walking in the same direction. Walk On

So Liverpool under young Rodgers is a work in progress and he needs to be given time. That's what fans have been saying about Kenny last season and looked what happened to him.

I've decided to hold my personal judgement of him until when looking at the table confirms where we will roughly stand by next May, it could be mid way through the season or whenever. Right now after 3 games is too early, plus the fixtures have not been kind to us. My yardstick for judging his performance would be based on Swansea and WBA. Laudrup hinted he wanted to have a crack at our manager's job when it was vacant and S.Clarke could easily had taken over. Their own respective clubs are flying high at the moment. If by next May, both Swansea and WBA are miles ahead of us in the table, I would say BR may not be the right man to bring Liverpool forward. Because both of those clubs have new managers bringing in new tactics that their players are unfamiliar with and with due respect to their players, our players are better than them IMO and so if we are a work in progress, they are an even much bigger work in progress than us. So if they outperform us in the league, I don't think anyone can argue against me judging BR as being not the right man.

Brilliant interview. His straight talking style is a sense of fresh air and quite frankly I'm baffled with those who have the nerve to try critical of him after what 3 league games?

Rome wasn't built in a day.

Best think about Rodgers is his honesty and I hope he never loses that.

Some would argue he showed inexperience with Carroll as he was very direct
but I like in managers, I want it straight and for the manager to speak from
the heart, and Rodgers so far has managed this with intelligent comunication.

I do not agree in protecting players or covering for people, and whilst it is not
always possible to be forthright Rodgers does manage to drop big enough hints
to get his point and view over very clearly so we are left under no illusion.

it's called modern day football which is full of knee jerk reactionary idiots. it'll get worse if we lose our next two games.

you only have to look at spurs fans who have booed their team off in the last two games, three games into AVB's reign.
