Sorry, I meant "bringing some hasbeen in on a free" not "on loan". Can't seem to edit my post. What is up with the forum right now?

Yeah, COME ON ADMIN !

This is doing my head in now. Go back to the old set up. That worked, this new format doesnt.

All we have now is bots, not being able to quote, and one big mess.

If it aint broke, dont fix it !

we`ve got a very good side mate, the likes of suarez, sahin, agger, allen, skrtel etc are excellent players, our best XI will give anyone a game, the problem is we are walking along the razors edge in terms of injuries to our front men.
if we are lucky it wont matter that we havent brought anyone in but if we get an injury to luis we are f**ked.

If we get an injury to Luis, im sorry I disagree here, we are not f*cked.

He is not our best striker, he is a talent, but he he is not our dependent.

bird.  That's my new nickname for you, If we were playing one match a week with the league and FA cup as throw aways I'd be fine with our side.  however.  We've got a very busy schedule coming up this season.  So what to do?  Play a mix of vets and youngsters in some games (and likely struggle) or play our best X! only in the league and say fook it in the cups?

really suprised we didn't do enough to get Dempsey. 6 million is worth it for a player like Dempsey, considering what we are paying for midfielders... is there a cold war between BR and the owners?

mags, I've got a feeling that we hit a spot with Fulham where if we weren't going to pay 9-10 million we weren't getting Dempsey.  Hell may have been more.  the way we handled the Dempsey thing was atrocious.  They accepted two bids from other clubs for less than the number we were told.  But rejected both of our bids.

We tried to underbid for Fulham's all time leading Prem scorer.

We never made an offer for Dempsey to begin with.

Maypax, apparently we made two offers today, very late going and they were rejected by Fulham.

Hey Good Yank, Soccernet reporting otherwise. Not too sure what to believe as it's all a mess at the moment. Right now I'm just hoping the club doesn't get punished by the FA over the Dempsey-gate. I think our squad looks fine honestly, I'm not worried at all.

Well, its time for Brendan to earn his wages now.

The transfer window is closed & his gonna have to do with what he have now.

Turn to wear your coach's hat now Brendan. No,more politics, no more negotiating, no more PR work. Lets see how you turn side around.

It's over to you now.

P.s. Its just baffles me how he could put faith on a 17 yr old but not on an england international.

Perhaps what we are seeing is Rodgers inexperience in transfer windows. Surely if he knew we weren't going to buy anyone Carroll would have stayed?

Knowing our luck Carroll will do really well at Westham & we will be struggling to score goals at the same time.

An England international who hardly made any impact last season compared to a 17 year old who could be the best winger we've had since Barnes and McManaman? All kinds of excuses were made up for Carroll, from being injured, to having to deal with the pressure of having such a massive pricetag and even to being forced to leave his hometown club but yet a 17 year old whom many thought was too young to cope has done so much better than the scorer of 4 goals last season.
