They see that Kenny has steadied the sinking ship, won us some silverware, nearly won us some more, got us back into a european competition etc and now they believe we can go the next step upwards but we need a new gaffer to take us there. We all love Kenny, that'll never change but it seems FSG have decided he'd done what they wanted him to do (except the league place) and now it's time to move on. New gaffer to come in and stir the place up a bit. If we finish next season top four then we'll all look back at this as a good thing.
in the meantime we will lick our wounds and speculate who the new man will be.
but just like when purslow et al got rid of rafa they assumed that things could only get better, but there is no guarentee of that.
there`s only managing united that comes close to the pressure of managing this club, there are other big clubs but they dont come with the weight of history that we do.
kenny retired through stress, he was coming out in big red blotches and couldnt think straight, souness had a heart bypass at 38, roy evans ended up in tears and ged ended up in a really bad way with his heart. roy hodgson was only here about 3 months but he was gibbering on in press conferences about conspiracies in the scandanavian press or something.
AVB already carrys on like basil fawlty on the sidelines, god knows what he`ll be like after 6 months here.
