now on twitter theres tweets saying the owners will give the new manager a 4 to 5 year deal with an aim  to win the prem or 2nd in the prem in two years.

righ so if we go down nexy year  or end up 12th can you see them keeping the new manager, no way, they will end his contract and cost us loads of money in doing so,
the new manager needs a two year rolling contract, with S.M.A.R.T goals,

How do you do it, I have mine for five minutes only to put them in the wash and never see them again.   :D

HA.  I thought the same thing.  Every time I'm at the store I at least have to think of getting a bag of 6 pairs.

All the best to you Kenny. Sad things didn't work out well for you this time round. Back in Feb 1991, you could have stayed till the end of the season instead of leaving us in such an abrupt manner.

FSG, if you're not going to build that much needed stadium, please get out of our club. So far, we've heard absolutely nothing from you guys regarding the stadium. Also, Mr.Werner, I don't think I'll trust your words anymore. Before the Semi against Everton, you said Kenny's position was safe and you had every confidence in him. Yet you sacked him. How can we trust your words again?

Although Kenny was harshly sacked and imo should have been given until Christmas (inspite of the dreadful league form and 110 million wasted), I must say i'm liking the owners more and more. For too long we have had a loser mentality as a club... with managers its been "give him more time"... with lower league level players its been "well done jay lad". This mediocrity tolerance has held us back for 2 decades. We have been run like a small cornershop while the top teams around us have been megastores. The owners will invigorate the demands we should be having as a big club and bring us into the 21st century.

When Barca do badly (ie lose 2 or 3 games) the white hankies come out, as they do at Madrid. They are big clubs who demand success. Di Matteo has won the FA Cup, his team is in a CL final, they finished 6th, and havent spent a penny... and still he looks likely to leave. Top clubs, in the 21st century, are ruthless. Unfortunately we haven't been and have tolerated pap for too long. After all the money he wasted, for Houllier to get six years was scandalous. Souness and Evans got the best part of eight years having spent fortunes and broke British transfer spending records.

The game has changed, and we have to change with it or be left further behind.

The owners are doing the right thing, as alwayslfc says though, time to stump up for the new stadium.

That said and here we go again, a new manager will want money, especially if its a top drawer guy.

Priorities AGAIN.... squad or stadium. The question never goes away!

I really don't think you have any idea what Liverpool FC is all about or what it means to support Liverpool. I think you are a disgrace.

I quite agree with D_C. They could have given Kenny until Christmas and I think they should to avoid any backlash from fans. D_C was right, we've not been ruthless enough. I think being the most successful club in British football at one time (not any more) had made Liverpool complacent and fell asleep while manure, Ars, city, chelsea have sprint miles ahead of us and this Liverpool hare has now just woken up and wondering what happen.

I hope FSG won't appoint Martinez. His win percentage rate is only 38%. Come on! Even an eight year old will tell you that's not good enough!!!! :veryangry

Sad to you go but you did your best and no one is doubting your intentions.

As someone else mentioned. If these owners doesn't want to build us a new stadium we have no use for them except relieving us from Twitt and Twatt. For them it was just a smart business decision though.

A bit leftfield here, but what about that Bilbao manager?

I suppose that's one option that FSG might well look at, I quite like him, it was sad to see Bilbao capitulate like they did in the Europa League final though.

Andre Villas Boas will be our new manager me thinks. I think the owners like a younger man which AVB is but then he is less of a risk than Martinez and Rodgers.

I think he could do a great job here aslong as he is appointed soon and has backing. He has links with a couple of the Porto players that if given the budget could come our way I.E HULK.

He was sacked by Chelsea but wasnt given the time to try and turn it around remember when he left they were still in the FA cup Champions League and Race for top 4.

Has learned off "The special one" for all you mourinho lovers.

In the 2010 - 2011 season Porto won the Portugese league and were undefeated.

His managerial record consists over 3 teams

Academica where he played 30 Games won 11 Drew 9 and Lost 10
Porto played 51 won 45 Drew 4 Lost 2
Chelsea Played 40 won 19 Drew 11 Lost 10

In total Games played 121 Won 75 Drew 24 Lost 22 win a win ratio of 61.98

That sort of record over a season will get you atleast top 4. This guy is hungry and like i mentioned previously he would be great in the transfer market. Being a Friend of Mourinho could he tempt him in the sale of Xabi Alonso or possibly any of the other Madrid Fringe players I.e Higuain.

To be fair it all depends on how the board are going to back the new manager.

I cannot see a new stadium being on the horizon anytime soon. The financial climate is hardly great is it? Britain is locked in a recession, banks aren't lending money, they're too busy paying off PPI compensation claims which are racking up into the billions. We're living in a time where everyone including businesses are count their pennies and are being more cautious with their money than ever before. I cannot see us starting to contemplate building a new stadium until banks are prepared to loan money or we can find a business that will sponsor the construction of our stadium. I would like to see Standard Chartered sponsor our new stadium and have the stadium named 'The Standard Chartered stadium'.
