Amazing performance by Stevie! shame on those who have written him off, he still has it!

..although this does nothing to make the non-scorers in the team look any better.

Asked about linking up well with Suarez, Gerrard said: "I haven't played with him much, but when we do we seem to have an understanding. With Andy (Carroll) as well, I think the three of us in the starting XI are always going to be a threat. Hopefully that can continue to get stronger and stronger."

Hes the best player ever to pull on the shirt for the prime reason he has carried us for over a decade. The one concern is the over reliance on him, as it keeps coming back to him having to carry the can.

We have two top class players in attack. Gerrard scores three, Suarez sets up two and plays a major role in the third. The link up between the two was world class.

As Souness on Sky, and Nevin on the BBC stated, Gerrard and Suarez are head and shoulders above anything we have. Build your team around your best players.

But that's not a very smart way of spending...

Try not to be obsessed with the cost.
The lad had a great game against our bitter and twisted rivals. That was worth more than money to me

If Gerrard never wins the Premier League, he has to go down as the finest player never to have won the League title. I reckon he'll carry on playing until he wins one, fair play to him based on the performance against Everton he's showing no signs of decline.

It's a bit disappointing that we still rely heavily on Gerrard to get the job done, we must find ourselves another Torres, someone who can work the channels and put away most chances we create. We can't keep relying on Gerrard all the time, the responsibility for winning matches rests on all members of our team, not just one individual.
