I was going to watch that but I cant stand that fat b*stard James Corden, HOW THE HELL DOES HE FIND WORK??

But I digress, I was going to watch it then they said Jack Whitehall was going to be on as well and so I gave it a miss.

That's pretty funny.

Did chuckle at the "hotel Jordan Henderson" bit - see Gerrard tried to keep a straight face.

:D
That was pretty funny.  Little wave of the finger too.

Corden and Whitehall get on my tits as well but I soldiered on
All round the fields of Anfield Road
Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play!)
Stevie Heighway on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
'Bout the glory, round the Fields of Anfield Road

I loathe Whitehall ,he's about as funny as the Ebola virus ,but I thought Flintoff was fucking class when  Redknapp said "Gerrard used to clean
my boots" and he sarcastically asked  did your boots ever get dirty ..... Freddie Flintoff SUPERSTAR  :D

Personally I think Gerrard is finished. Way too many injuries in recent seasons. Not the same impact he used to have. A yard short of pace. Easily nullified in a game.
I think it's high time we either bought a like-for-like player at whatever the cost or simply change tactics. Far too much is expected of him the minute he steps on the pitch and way too often he fails to deliver.

gerrards injuries have been detrimental to us but the biggest disapointment for me is that he should be more of an influence on the field and bloody well command the respect of the players around him and as captain he should be demanding this.

Watched him on a chat show in Ireland this evening. Saw THAT footage from Istanbul and Jaysus do I wish he could do that more often. I like the guy, really, but one thing he said about "at my age" just sounded like he himself is winding down...

Yeah, I accidentally came across it today (at least I think we're talking bout the same thing).

No Istanbul footage though, just his goal and the lifting of the trophy.

Liked the part when he said that he's playing better when he's in a bad mood, because I'm like that as well. I knew I had the Steven Gerrard in me man :D.

watched that myself.
agree with the winding down and maybe he is beginning to look at a career in tv after he hangs the boots up as thats two appearances on tv in the last week.
he can still be a big player for us for at least another 2 years and i hope he realises that as much as we do.

While the injuries has been problematic, the biggest problem this season has been that he has been played out of position. He is far more effective when played on the right or just behind the striker(s). If we keep playing him like we do now we waste his talents, as in his current role he is just an average player. Obviously he is at the end of his career and probably wont be available for every game next season, but if we use him wisely i'm sure he can do a great job for a few more seasons.

Without doubt. We have wasted him for the last 3 years (since Alonso left) as the lack of a passer in midfield meant he was forced to come back deep to get the ball... taking him away from the area where he is most effective...between midfield and attack (the hole).

Stevie doesn't have the mobility of old.. but hes far better than what he is showing with us at the minute because hes restricted by the lack of quality in the team meaning he has had to play out of position. Hes even more shackled when there isn't a holding player (which there hasnt been since Lucas got injured).

Hes still world class, the performance against everton was sublime, but hes not being allowed to show it more often due to the paucity of quality in midfield especially.

I thought the manner in which he rushed to extol the virtues of Hodgson was slightly Beckhamesque and given the high esteem  Liverpool fans
hold  good old Uncle Woy in ,I found his haste slightly embarrassing .

Gerrard has become a big game player ,so tomorrows game should suit him down to the ground ...I think if anyone in the team doubts we can beat
Chelsea then Stevie will put them right in his quest for personal glory .
