Liverpool Football Club - Games

Lucas MOTM without a doubt just massive play today.

I think people got caught by the final minutes when we Blitzed them but i thought our overall play wasn't good. We defended too deep and too much time we allowed to handle th ball comfertably and easiily. We should have been at their throats from the first minute and not playing cowerdly at times. You could see the fatigue catching up on the City players and we could have made them work much much more.

A miss for me. I thought we should have won before the game started but the players approach was not completly their.

Henderson handling of the ball ,when he finally did touch it, was of a carpenter and not a football player ,really don't know what needs to be done with him anymore. Downing again 10 minutes felt out of 90 ,not good enough. And for god sake let Big Andy Play give him a chance Kuyt should really be a permenent bench player.

Overall a decent performance.. Mancity didn't perform today.
But we could have taken more than 1 point if not for some superb saves, the lack of luck, and lack of attention.

Below are some of the things that need to be addressed as soon as possible.
1) Lack of sharp shooters outside the penalty box. It seems outside of Gerrard we have none that could shoot outside the box.
This is not good. We are limiting out attacking options. C Adam just demonstrated the importance of shooting outside the box.
(Though he hit it badly.. but still go in) Steward Downing tends to send the ball to the sky gods as offerings.
2) Lack of great corner takers, or corners strategies.
It seems C Adam is ill suited for this task. Maybe we need to look for someone better :P
Dead ball and corners really need to improve. Instead of sending the ball to the middle of the park, have some trickery to our set play.
Maybe we really need a better specialist coach...
3) So far we have played well against teams that like to play. There are plenty of spaces for us to run and pass.
But I dread the day we have to play packed midfield and defense again. I feel the team plays too far apart at most times.
I hope we can adapt if the need requires. Frequently during our attack, there are still gaps in the middle and outside the penalty area.
It seems that no players want to go there.. So sad.

Overall still a great performance from the team today..

Made up with how we played there today and we were unlucky not to take the three points .  God Agger has to stay injury free , the way the ball is being played out of the defence on the f;oor is wonderful , even in tight situations noone panicks and its just calmly played out , Lucas Levia was absolutly immense , and deserves all the plaudits hes getting . i lost count of the times i shouted well in Lucas lad . An im made up with Enrique hes getting better and better every time he pulls that red shirt on , its great to finaly have a left back who can not only defend but is great up an down the line and crossing the ball , unlucky there today lads but you can see were getting there

Fantastic today and we really should have won. I know Lucas was getting all the praise and he was without a doubt fantastic but for me the MOTM was Enrique. He was up and down the pitch all day doing his own and Downings jobs.

We need to start a run of a few wins now.

that was a good display from the lads today.they all played well and worked hard for each other and gave city very little all game.
lucas motm for me and followed closely by enrique and adam.
we should have taken 3 points today and like the manure match i feel they got away lightly.
were shaping up to be a tough team to beat atm and on our day we play some of the best football ive seen from us in years.
we just need a player or two in jan and there is no reason why we cant be right up there in the mix

Football teams mentality is really a fascinating thing. Even though half of our squad is no older than few months, we still seem to boss most of the games against the bigger teams but underperform against the lesser sides, just like in previous seasons. I wonder how we'll do against Fulham and QPR in our following games.

when was the last time we went toe-to-toe with the best team in the league and matched them on every level?

When we play wide there's only one person in the box! Suarez often isolated with his back to goal at times.
Should have taken 3 points (again)

Drawn in 5 games at home, it's really frustrating

Fantastic performance.

In context we bi-tch slapped the best team in the country for almsot the whole 2nd half.

23 goals in 6 away games before today and they get one "off a shoulder"

We out played AND outfought them.

I fthe complainers and moaners can't see what KK is building here they can "stroll on"

I'm predicting Liverpool FC ... 2012-2013 Premier league winners....:)
