first i'd heard anything about this was before the match when the lineup was announced.
hope he isnt and they are taking no chances with him to be on the safe side.
after we play swansea its a 2 week break for the internationals then we have chelski followed by city so its important that he is available for both.

I've heard some kind of ankle infection but nothing serious.

Is it too premature to be thinking about finding a long term replacement?

I think we have been doing so in the last few years with Shelvey and Henderson.

I don buy it. I actually think we're protecting gerrard prior to three big games against Chelsea, City and Chelsea again in the Carling Cup.

Kenny clearly thinks we should be able to cope against West Brom and Swansea without Gerrard. It would be embarrassing if we did need him for either of those games.

The knock comes very conveniently as a international break is about to hit. How many times do we see injuries in useless friendlies?

I have no doubt whatsoever that Gerrard will be back for Chelsea on November 20th. Kenny an Gerrard know what their doing!

Yeah, thought of it myself, Kenny just doesn't want to risk giving  him to Capello for the international games.
