STEVEN GERRARD - Official Thread

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

From the guardian:

Liverpool are panicking after Steven Gerrard's ankle injury means they are down to their last 473 midfielders and probably feel pretty stupid for letting Christian Poulsen go in the summer.

Glad your not my boss mate! Regardless of injuries he is one of the few players that actually deserves what he is paid and for that reason the club will continue to look after him.He has been an amazing player for LFC and it is more than a tad annoying when people like yourself are looking for ways to almost screw him over. Show a bit of respect please.

Trying to screw us over?

Come on now. LFC will always be my top priority. This is the problem with players that has a history like Gerrard, Totti and Raul with their respective club. I would love for him to stay at the club forever but not at the expense of progression. He is on 150k-200k a week at "who really knows?". These sort of wages that Gerrard is on at the moment can only be spared for players that really contributes a lot at right now and not based on past performances.

I know! Dalglish, Clarke and Comolli will ruin this club with these ridiculous decisions. How they could not see Poulsen was one for the future is beyond me.

I think stevie has a bit more to offer before he,s written off. He's a fighter, and I belive there's one more Istanbul or Cardiff out of him before some so called fans here have him carted off to the knackers yard. YNWA

He has a bit more to offer but in the meantime we have not filled his position and the goals he used to offer whilst he winds down. Let's face it, he isn't going to play the whole season so if Suarez picked up a knock we would be in trouble. That thought seems ludicrous given how much we spent since FSG arrived, but I think we need to buy again in Jan.

Apparently, he should be back in training in a few days. Don't know if Kenny didn't want him to play in the international games or he was really injured that bad, but it doesn't matter, I just hope he's ready for Chelsea.

It would be great if he's fit when we play Chelsea in the cup, but I doubt he will :(

Kenny is delighted with his progress and won't rush him back bla bla bla... should be back at some point in December.

ankle infection ! I'm surprised he actually got some game time this season considering he looked finished to me last March.....perhaps the ankle infection is more of a smokescreen than a medical condition....maybe?
