“Injuries are one of the tests you get at a football club. Someone’s always going to be missing,” said Dalglish. “We feel sorry for Lucas, not for ourselves. Someone has to step up from the squad – it’s why we have a strong squad."

Dalglish also spoke about the progress of Steven Gerrard's ankle trouble but once again refused to offer date when he's likely to return. “We are delighted with Steven’s progress and though we won’t give a date for him to come back, it will be sooner rather than later,” Dalglish added.

It was a groin infection that they decided to put him in plaster for. WTF is now wrong with his ankle

Sounds like the club are bs'ing if you ask me.

it wasn't his groin, it was his ankle that got the infection from a cut. They put the cast onto it as a precaution to allow it to heal...at least that's what the club said.

I've heard a rumour that he'll be back within 2 weeks.

I don't know why a club as huge as us keeps his fan base in the dark as to injuries and recovery updates. Unclear and bizar quite frankly.

Would you like Kenny to phone you personally and tell you what is happening ?

It makes no difference if they tell us or not , it won't change when he is coming back .

Yes i would ,acutelly i would like him to come to my house and give me an exact update!

I think Liverpool fans would like to know when their captain or for that matter any other player is expected to return ,this isn't a Top secret operation for god sake.

I thought you were joking but your actually serious -

How about the reason why they don't give out when exactly players will be back from injuries is because they don't actually know themselves - Kenny says he is getting closer - that's all you need to know .

Bizarre is right. A 32 year old with a groin infection followed by an ankle infection. An infection that requires a cast and crutches???

That is complete and utter bullsh'it. Either his injuries are different to what the club have said they are, or he's got some weird underlying medical disorder, which seems unlikely.

What is for sure is that repeated, prolonged injuries at his stage of career are not a good thing.

fantastic news!. Having Stevie back for the Christmas period would be massive, and especially the two cup games in the new year.

Hope he'll be fit for the Villa game, we could really use his help in that one.
