chuffed he's responded to what's been being said
All round the fields of Anfield Road
Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play!)
Stevie Heighway on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
'Bout the glory, round the Fields of Anfield Road

I think now we have more quality across the squad, Gerrard can spend time doing what he does best, going forward. He must be itching to come back.
My new blog for my upcoming holiday.

I look forward to Stevie's return. It seems like years since he last played.

Too early for him to make a return (to the bench) this weekend??

Would be a positive move by Kenny. Maybe not with the intention of playing him but just him being about. Him and Bellamy on the bench gives the squad a major boost :)

Too early.

He has only just started light training. He set himself a return date of September 18th (Tottenham).

Naming him on the bench and not playing him makes no sense whatsoever. Dalglish would only get jumped upon in the post-match for not playing him.

when he's fit to return our bench could possibly read gerrard, bellamy, maxi, skrtel, kuyt and johnson. just compare that to the bench we had a year ago.

it also shows how far we've come in that you don't know for sure who'll drop out of the side when he's back.

Can't wait for him to return.

He has been out for so long it will feel like a new signing. Where he will play and who will be sacrificed will be a tough one for Kenny, but it's a good problem to have.

would prefer to see him play a few games in the reserves before dropping him back into the first 11. No point risking his fitness for an extra few weeks of playing because it could backfire on a disasterous scale

Can't Fu*king wait to see him back on the field again.

I know we all love King Kenny but given the teams he's had to play in I've finally decided that Stevie G for me is the best player to ever wear our shirt.   :buttrock

Easily the best player I've seen wear the shirt. John Barnes' prime (87-91) was slightly before my time although he was obviously a genius.

Infact he's the best English player of his generation full stop. The only one who comes close is Paul Scholes and even then he's a completely different type of player to Stevie.

The fact that some are already writing his career off is laughable. Even now when he's fit he'd walk back into the England side (even though I wish he'd retire)  :D

Think he'll make the bench to be honest but won't play a part unless we're comfortable in the last 10-15.  Kenny is that type of manager, and Stevie deserves to be on that bench.. man I can't wait for him to be fit.

that video is unbelievable - Ive seen him play so many times but it still surprised me how well he hits the ball.

What a player.  and he is all ours!!!

Cant wait to get him back on the pitch
Our job is simple, to support the club, not just parts of the club that are easy to support, but every one who plays a part, that includes ALL players.  We are stronger when we are all walking in the same direction. Walk On
