Rumour has it is that its Doubtful he is going to be ready for new season, which is a shame as it would have been nice to kick off at full strength

Liverpool prepare to start the season without injured Gerrard

Liverpool are braced to start their Premier League campaign without injured skipper Steven Gerrard.

That almost certainly rules him out of England’s friendly with Holland on August 10 and makes him a major doubt for the Euro 2012 qualifier with Wales on September 6.

The Sunday Mirror understands 31-year-old Gerrard’s recovery from a second groin injury is more complicated than first anticipated.

Tbh :censored: England.

He should announce his retirement and concentrate on lfc.

Too many times over the years he has come back from some pointless friendly with a niggle.

Its a no brainer that Stevie will see his role as helping Kenny rebuild the dynesty, there's no way he's going to jepodise that for England surely?

It is a no brainer, but stevie is a proud man so probably thinks he would let people down.

But he should look at the likes of scholes, he quit England and is still going strong at 35.

If his groin does heal right, we could get another 2/3 years from him.
