Spot on mate, it was a disgraceful decision.

again

CARRICK DIDN'T HAVE THE BALL

pmsl, might have been a 50/50 ball but only one player had both feet off the ground.

Lakes, play a game of football. If a ball is sitting like that, the one who goes in hardest not only wins it, but protects himself. That is what is known as a hospital 50/50 ball. Carrick was a fairy in his tackle. Gerrard wasn't. He'd only intent in getting the ball, not the player.

THAT DOES NOT MATTER

if both studs are showing and you catch your opponent it can be a red.

(imo it was a yellow, but I can see why a red was given, and I wouldnt say it was "never" a red)

The thing is, He wasn't going for the player, he was going for the ball, I just saw the replay again, Gerrard was going for the ball, so was carrick, gerrard caught carrick.

now how the :censored: was that a red, when de jong's tackle on hatem ben arfa was 10 times worse

I'm happy. I like what I'm seeing today. A couple of days ago I had no hope for this match, since I heard Hodgson was out and Dalglish was in, I had no expectations for the match, but hope that I'd see something different. I'm seeing that, and I'm no longer dreading the next game.

I'm happy :)

We'll fight back now, and dig in hard. People always say that it's harder to play against 10 men. I think we will score a couple.

Dont worry guys, will be even when Flecther gets sent off in the 2nd half.

Honestly cant believe people are saying this is the best we have played all season though? That was the Chelsea game IMO, we arent playing that much different as to when Roy was here IMO, only pressing when they get into our half, all men behind the ball etc (however I didnt expect it to change as KK has only been in charge for like 2 hours)

That's cr@p, I'm tired of hearing of that about "two-footed" challenges. Doesn't necessarily make it a bad tackle. Far more important are timing, intent to injure, and so on, and his timing was barely off, and there was zero intent to injure. If anything Carrick's timing was worse, he just made a far less energetic tackle.

What other way can you dive in to make a tackle? When looking at tackles like that, it's the position of both fight, and more importantly, the hight. Gerrard's feet aren't over the ball. You keep hearing that :censored: Gray go on about it, but he's right. If the feet aren't over the top, then it's a ball winning tackle.

i undersrtand what you are saying mate, but the ruels have been set out for 3 years now, if you leave the ground when going in you run the risk of getting a red if you miss.

just look at Kenny, he knows it was a red, dont think he will say much about it, yes another ref might have let him off, even more so if he has just given a pen for a :censored: dive.
