Feels fecking great mate. Like im 10 years old again.

Doesn't it. If I'd still got me Candy top, I'd have it on. Be a tight fit, though.

Im still pleased with how we are set up and how we are playing. A lot more sprint in the players.

sitll have the % of missed passes , need to work on it.

Doesn't matter that will come with time. Point is they are closing down higher up the pitch than they did with Roy.

Spot on mate, it was a disgraceful decision.

again

CARRICK DIDN'T HAVE THE BALL

pmsl, might have been a 50/50 ball but only one player had both feet off the ground.

Lakes, play a game of football. If a ball is sitting like that, the one who goes in hardest not only wins it, but protects himself. That is what is known as a hospital 50/50 ball. Carrick was a fairy in his tackle. Gerrard wasn't. He'd only intent in getting the ball, not the player.

not with two feet of the ground mate, sorry.

What other way can you dive in to make a tackle? When looking at tackles like that, it's the position of both fight, and more importantly, the hight. Gerrard's feet aren't over the ball. You keep hearing that :censored: Gray go on about it, but he's right. If the feet aren't over the top, then it's a ball winning tackle.

yes it a good ponit, how do you do it, well by keeping on foot on the ground, as the fa said, you onky need one foot to hit the ball, you not need one to take the ball and the other to break a leg.

Two VERY soft calls from Webb, IMO.  Guess Fergie decided to invite Webb for wine after the match now that Roy's not available.  Never mind, fight on lads and lash in an equalizer.  We'll get this tie back to Anfield and let the Kop sort the ref out. :;):

Sorry but you're wrong. If both feet leave the ground and enter into a tackle you're almost certain to get a red. That is fundamental and will be given at every level of football by any competent referee.

That said Gerrard was unlucky because initially he went in with one foot. For some reason the second foot was added mid tackle and I believe it was that single decision that got him sent off.

As it stands I'd settle for a replay at Anfield.

Doesn't matter, Lakes. I've just realised that we're doing one thing here that hasn't happened in ages on this forum, or most other's: we're debating a decision in a football match, about a football match! Feels great, instead of all the other nonsense. It's finally good to talk about the football.

Disgraceful referee.  Soft pen. Berbatove went down easy after a challenge that the linesman didn't even flag; that said, Agger didn't need to risk it. The red card was very harsh. Carrick came it a 90 degree angle - they were not going head-on and so didn't risk the momentum carrying him through...that would have been dangerous/ Gerrard went for the ball, barey touched Carrick. Yellow as it was careless, however not a red because Carrick wasn't in danger of being seriously injured.

Up until the red card we've played at least as well as them, very well organise and pushing men forward in attack. Need to keep it tight and make the most of our opportunities second half. We're still in this, lads....

If Torres isn't up for this match, he never will be. Perhaps it's time to boot him out in the transfer window. He's no use to us.
